Yes, you can either "cast screen" using the TV settings as well as the Tab button (providing your TV is fairly modern and with that feature)
But the easiest way is to buy a HDMI cable with a micro HDMI/USB from your phone on one end that converts up to the standard size HDMI...plug and play (just adjust the input port on your TV menu)

If you really want to use the USB port to charge your Zeepad, you will need to custom-built a cable using any extra USB cable you can spare. Just change the connector at the remote end of the cable to one that suits your Zeepad's 5V DC IN socket. You are forwarned the connector is not easy to find.

Is the green charging light displaying on the side of the tablet and/or does the screen indicate that it's taking a charge?

When you hold down the power button for 30 seconds or more, does the screen indicate anything? Charging? Battery low? Charged?

If it's new (and your son doesn't have any/much personal files on the device it's probably less headache to just return it to the store and get a replacement.

Plug the device into the usb cable and wait a few seconds. Both the computer and the tablet should beg for input. Tell the tablet to work as "mass storage" first. Windows 7 should find it.

Do you mean reset the Tablet? These Tablets don't have mechanical HHD they are IC's.
If you want to reset the Tablet to factory settings use a small stiff wire such as a paper clip, eye end of a sewing needle. Push it into the small hole between the earphone & HDMI sockets on the side of the Tablet. Push the reset button to reset Tablet

That's a tough job unless you can send it back.

You can charge it with a USB cable and aPC, however it is slower but it might work.

Try that first.

I might be missing something, but you are describing a converter box that converts digital signals from an antenna to analog.
The converter box will be set to channel 3, and you should set your tv's to channel 3 as well.
Using the remotes that came with the tv's go into setup and if available as an option, you will find an option to select cable/antenna or automatic. Select automatic or antenna and save. If there is a selector switch on the back of the tv's, set to 3.

Connect antenna cable into input, and use supplied cable to connect from the output of the converter to your tv.

plug in power supply for converter box, tune tv to channel 3 then follow instructions to setup converter box including channel scan.
When done, the converter remote will control everything. However, the tv volume control will work even though the converter remote will have volume as well. The tv remote as well is needed to shut off or turn on tv. These functions can on most tv's be performed on the set as well.

No codes are required. The converter remote will work on any tv.

If you want to use both tv's then you will need a splitter on the output of the converter to send the signal to both tv's. Only one channel can be viewed at a time.

Viewing separate Chanel's requires a second converter box and a splitter connected to the antenna cable for viewing separate channels.

More options are possible, but I hope this helps you get started.
The converter box takes place of the tv's tuner and in essence disables it.

you need to install the mpeg4 codecs drivers for your hand held this quite a new machine out in the world so i wouldnt know if they have the new conversion codecs out yet for mpeg4 on hand held devices i havent checked up mpeg4 but it was on my todo list
but thats all it is is updateing codec modules to mpeg4 multimedia
