Replace pullcord on craftsman 316.350840

I know that the starter assembly for Craftsman 316.350840 [ The 316 means it was made by MTD] this saw became became no longer available. But you can use this model number 41AY80AG983 [Remington also made by MTD] and get the same part (exception being that it will be Orange, instead of Black). Part number 753-06974

Where to get the parts? Cam & blades

http://www.remingtonchainsaw.com/parts.html
To the best of my knowledge, all parts have to be obtained online. Remington (DESA) went out of business in 2008/2009. They are now owned by MTD. It is still unknown if MTD will continue to offer parts for the older units.
Good luck!

Click “View Owners Manual” or "View Illustrated Parts Diagram" link.
Type "YourPartNumber" into the “Search for your parts by Part #:” window, then click search.

I lost the litthe bushing that goes behind the cover for the guide bar nut . where can I find one? it looks like a little hollow "top hat". it is a remington m15014as, 14: bar and the only other thing it...

Hello Peggy: Ohio? I have a cousin there.
Back to your problem. RemingtonPower is no longer in production. The name has recently been purchased by MTD. It appears they are offering a few selected parts. A cover to fit your saw is now available.

I went here and input model M15014AS, followed the directions and when possible selected the IPD. I found Item 28, pn 107711-01, is NLA everywhere.
The "Sprocket Cover (containing the bushing)" is available "Item 6, pn 113007-01 - USE REPLACEMENT PART # 116675-01, NLA @ Remington Power but is available @ PartsFor.com. Please check my work below.
Remington.com

Type "YourPartNumber" into the “Search for your parts by Part #:” window, then click search.

PartsFor.com

pn 116675-01, Availability: In stock, $15.60
If me I would use the phone number provided, ensure it will fit your saw, it includes the bushing, order with a credit card (recover your investment much easier), get the name of the service person helping me and the name of her/his supervisor.
Once I had it hand and it fit I would likely apply some double sided tape to preclude its loss again.

If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. HTH & Good Luck.
