Unplug all the speakers and see if the short goes away first.

You don't see any glass fuses? There is also a non replaceable fuse in the power transformer.

No power going into my marantz 44se amp.

Check AC main fuse inside the amp located next to the power transformer, if the fuse is open, just put another and if it blows let the amp as is, because if you put more fuses and blow them you just add more damage to the amp, let me know your results.

I have a Marantz PM 55SE amplifier. The fuse kept blowing but i managed to fix this by putting in a slightly bigger one. However the left channel keeps going from ok to distorted to off. Any ideas what...

First it's very dangerous to put a larger fuse in any device than the stated rated. Fuses blow when there's an overload, that could cause a fire! Fortunately (for you) it has shown you that the left power amp is the faulty device that was causing the correct rated fuse to blow in the first place. If you have a Ohm meter you can put the leads on the terminals of the transistors in left channel and you should find one or more that acts like you have touched the tests probes together! If there are two transistors in the left channel I advise you to replace both, even if one seems OK. Also look around for burnt resistors in the same area. When complete put back in the right fuse!!

Hello i have a marantz pm-47 amp that keeps blowing every time i plug in the power feed to the amp board i have changed the 2 caps on the board but still have the same problem i checked voltage for...

Hi mas_66,
Make sure that the fuse is the same rating with the old one.
If still symptom persist, I've suspected that your output IC is shorted.
You may hang this IC, then power up the unit.
Observe what will happen, if this cure the symptom then this is a clear indication that this IC is shorted and made the fuse blown while it is in the circuit board.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!

Can I replace the stock power cord on my Marantz PM-11S1 integrated amp. with a new high end power cord ?

Hi Nancy,
Yes you can replace the power cord if it is already defective(open internal wire). You may buy on your local electronics store. But if the power cord is in good condition, there's no reason to replace.
Hope I helped you.

The fuse keeps blowing in my marantz pm-57 amplifier. It says it takes a T 2.5A 250V fuse. I can only find 2.5A 250V fuses. What relevance is the ''T''.

Goo day sir, the T on the fuse has nothing to do on you marantz fuse blowing up, chances are you amplifier is shorted, check you IC amplifier/power transistor for shorts. Check also your speaker impedance. usually they are 8 ohms. You can use a technician's multitester device to check the impeadance. An imbalance or mismatch speaker can cause a fuse to blow and destroy your amplifier. hope this helps.

Marantz PM-48 connecting to TV

look on the back of the TV and there should be L/R audio outputs (white & red), connect this to a spare input of your amp via a connecting lead eg. AUX or any other input except PHONO.

hope this helps.

Could be a power supply failure or a Power "On" switch failure.
