How to reset an acer laptop

On a Microsoft PC - - - press either f11, f10, f9 or alt f10 upon start up. If it tries to start without loading files (gray bar accross bottom) just hold down the switch to shut it off to keep trying different start up. It also may have an f2 or esc at start up to get in to the selection of what mode you wish to start it in and have the option to do a recovery.
If you are speaking of a reset in an Android you have to do a search in Acer for the instructions for that model.

My Acer netbook will not boot completely to windows. I get a blue screen and then it attempts to reboot again. What do I do ?

Maybe you can try a system restore. If you are still running the pre-installed OS, press one of the following keys to start system restore. (Depends on which model you have)
  • ALT+F10
  • ALT+F8
  • FN+F8
  • FN+F10

Do this when you see the Acer boot screen. Hope this will help.

I have acer aspire 3002lci . I want restore factory settings. I won't have recovery cd.How to do? i had done with alt+f10 it doesn't work.

The ALT+F10 routine should work if the ALT key is held down and the F10 key is repeatedly depressed before and during the Acer logo display.
If you still have a working M/C then the recovery routine can be accessed from START / ALL PROGAMS and selecting Acer Empowering Technology and then Acer recovery Management.
This might differ a little because you have a netbook

I need recovery cd download for acer aspire m1640

There aren't any restore disks because most Acer's have them built-into the hard drive.

Just press SHIFT + F10 when you start the computer.

That should put you into the Acer eRecovery Menu.

If that key combo doesn't work try:

F10
Alt + F10
Fn +F10
ctrl + F10

Let me know which one works, I always seem to forget.

Best of luck!

I would like to return my Acer laptop to its original state as it was bought.

Hello,

I think on most acers come with a restore partition that is accessible by a key combination on startup.

Try this:

Restart the machine.

Before the windows logo shows you will see some option at the bottom like F5 F8 F10. I think the one you will use will be ALT F10 but it could be F12. Its hard to be exact without the model number but one of those options should start the factory restore. If this doesn't correct it, reply back with your exact model number for specific help.

Also, you can obtain the restore media from the company by contacting them here.

Hope this helps. Please remember to rate this information.

Thanks
