Just performed the same task on another brand table saw. un-sungged the bolts holding the table to the saw frame and tapped corners of the table while measuring distance from the mitre slot to the lead and tail of the fully extended saw blade (not from the teeth) calibrated to a perfect 90 degrees position. I figured out how to use a digital miter gauge to measure the distance from the blade to the edge of the mitre slot. You can tap appropriate corners to align.

Note when you are in alignment, re-tighten the bolts a little at a time, measuring and tapping as you go.

Bought a used Delta 36-650 TS and want to install a General International fence. Is it worth the time?

Only you can decide, it only goes to 30 inches to left of blade. I do know what you intend to with saw, the fence that comes with saw is good. I personally would not buy the fence.. Are going to make furniture that saw no no. I do not know how parallel to miter slot is saw blade.

Delta 10 Compound Miter Saw, Model 36-220, regarding the fence, why aren't the left and right side in line with each other?

You will need to co-plane fences . One fence has screws that you can loosen and place straight edge against one fence and bring the other to it. You will also need to check blade to fence angel It should be adjusted to 90 degrees. Every cut is referenced to blade-fence accuracy. there are sever you-tube videos on how to set up saw.. When I set my new 12 inch dewalt, I sent about 3 hours setting up accuracy.

Table saw blade alignment

Are you referring to the table top or rip fence alignment? The blade itself is not aligned. We adjust the table to parallel with blade and the rip fence should toe away from blade 0.01mm over the length of the rip fence to prevent binding.

HAVE OLD MAKITA 2708 TABLE SAW HOW DO I SQUARE THE BLADE

Hi rjames16,

Are you wanting to square the blade to the rip fence, to the miter fence or does the blade show runout?

To square the rip fence to the blade, lay a combination square or engineer's square along the blade with the short leg against the closest end of the fence and even with the near end of the blade. Slide the square along the blade so that the short leg is even with the far end of the blade. Loosen the lock knob and move the far end of the fence until it touches the leg of the square. Tighten the lock knob. Recheck and adjust the fence until it is perfectly square to the blade.

Adjust the miter fence to the blade in a similar fashion except that the short leg of the square will lay against the miter fence. Adjust until the long leg is aligned with the blade. The instructions for these adjustments are in the owner's manual.
You can download a copy at this website: http://www.makita.com/en-us/Modules/Tools/ToolSupport.aspx?ID=604

Copy and paste this entire address into your browser and a page will open with 2 Adobe documents. One is for the owner's manual, the other for the parts breakdown.

If you have blade runout, remove it from the saw and lay it flat. Check for warping and if warped, replace it.

Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate your vote. Thanks,

Blade is not parallel to the channel. How do I adjust it?

Instruction manual for your saw is here. See Page 21. You need to adjust your blade alignment to the miter slots. As mentioned in the manual, there are a couple bolts that hold the rear trunnion in place. Loosen them up, shift the motor a bit (not an easy task). Keep checking blade alignment until you've got it down.

There are after market trunnion alignment kits for table saws that make this a bit easier. Check out PALS (Precision Alignment & Locking System). For $20 or so, it makes the process MUCH MUCH easier.

If this post was useful, please vote. Thanks!

How do I align the saw blade with the saw table I have a 10 inch Delta Contractor's saw that is about 10 years old. The blade is not straignt with the miter slot. [email protected]

The Blade Arbor is held to the bottom of the table with mounting screws and stop/adjusting screws. Loosen the mounting screw and adjust the stop screws to make Blade true with miter slot.

Blade Alignment?

ok yep your blade is out of alignment with the fence. It is closer to the fence at the rear than the front. You need to make the modification or adjustment to your fence, if it allows that, and then worry about the miter slots later (which should be adjusted miter slot to blade, not miter slot to fence). You might be able to adjust the miter slot to blade by moving the actual table and then securing witht he table mount bolts. Check your manual for how to align the fence.

You do want to fix that though as it can be potentially dangerous and result in kickback of the workpiece which is a rather SCARY thing, and very dangerous.

I have a Delta heavy duty construction table saw and the blade needs to be alligned to make it cut straight. Nothing appears to be bent. How do I adjust the screws to improve my ctting.

I have the same saw and love it. There are mounting bolt under the table between the blade and the motor. There not ment to be used for adjusting but there is some play. The way to get the best cut is to adjust the fence to the blade. I have a Bessimer fence that adjusts easily with two allan machine screws the push plastic pads against the arms rail. I get cuts that look like DA with 220 was used. Enjoy the saw and good luck.

Older Delta 10'' Miter Saw Zero setting is out by 1/2 degree.

Undid the RH fence-bolt in the table behind the fence and tapped the end of the fence forward to make it perpendicular to the blade. Tighten bolt. When you look down on the two fence bolt heads, one is easy to rotate with a socket wrench, the LH bolt head would be very, very difficult to move. Undo the RH bolt to swing the fence angle WRT the blade.
