Replace filter if restricted. if ice has formed in tube coming into ice maker, remove ice and replace water valve. this is causing back pressure and poppin line off.

Timer ice maker kenmore side

If the timer piece you are referring to is behind the square white cover, and it's moving slightly back and forth, you should visually check the ice making area it's self to see if the ejector fingers are jammed with ice, or against the ice stripper. Ice Maker jams can be caused by reduced water pressure to the unit mainly from the water filter, your water filter in the toe kick should be replaced at an interval of 6 months to a year, regardless of filter status light. When water pressure is low, not enough water fills the unit and the undersized cubes can become lodged or stuck in the ice maker while being ejected, equally so if there is an over fill situation caused by other failures the ice maker can't eject at all. 70267990 Water will not run into the icemaker

Pretty simple fix. Your ice maker is it's own boss. It calls for water to be added after each harvest cycle. It and it alone. You have 4 things that could be wrong. Bad ice maker, bad water valve, bad water filter, and dirty condenser coils. The ice maker has a thermostat in it that calls for harvest. When that thermostat closes it powers up the motor and heater. Since the heater requires the most shocktricity to operate the motor will barely move. However as the ice melts the motor will gain ground until the main drive wheel rotates past a certain point and the heater is disengaged from the circuit, then the motor travels on around and dumps the ice. Near the very end of the harvest cycle a lever is tripped that powers the water valve for 7.5 seconds and fills the mold. Logically you want to replace the cheapest component of the 2 (ice maker and water valve) first just to see if that fixes it. You need a new watervalve anyway if you install a new ice maker. If installing a water valve don't do it (after you have cleaned the coils and know the water filter is ok and you have paid the water bill) then you would replace the ice maker itself. If the ice mold is full of ice and won't harvest you have a bad ice maker. Good rule of thumb: If you can add some water to an empty ice mold and it kicks out a batch then you need a new water valve. My refrig stop making ice after I changed the water filter. I had the filter out for about 3 hrs, would this cause the problem?

Hi, first , pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If if freezes , and dumps , replace the water valve. If it does not dump the cubes , replace the ice maker. After pouring the water into the ice maker , remove the bottom kick panel , and clean the bottom coils , of dust , lint , pet hair , etc , as this will raise the freezer temp . An ice maker has to be 5 degrees , to operate , correctly . If ice maker starts working , after cleaning the coils , GREAT ! ( it does happen ) .

Take care

Whirlpool gold moder GC5SHEXN503 side by side-ice maker not producing ice anymore--water dispenser works fine--laser lites seem ok---no ice jam--no water filling ice molds

Put some water in the ice maker and see if it will kick a batch out. If it does make a batch but does not make any more then replace the water valve. NOTE: the water valve is a dual purpose valve that supplys water in the door and supplys the ice maker. If the ice maker does not kick out a batch then something is wrong with the ice maker. One easy component to replace is the ice mold thermostat.
