SOURCE: I have a miller xmt

Hi:

Ok, let troubleshoot this one.

There is only two connectors on your 12VS wire feeder; the lead cable that goes to the + side of the XMT welding machine and the VS cable (Volt Sensing) that goes to you work piece joining the ground cable (don't forget the ground clamp).

a) The mode switch on your XMT must be on V-sense feeder.
b) Your 12VS feeder depending on what kind of wire you are using (innershield) negative side or gas wire + side.
That's it. If there i no spark, there is something wrong with your XMT.

If this was useful to you please vote. Thanks.

Miller welding machine XMT MPa 450 facing help 6 / contactor for 24 volts not energised and help 6 comes out/

This is a voltage issue and it's low or getting a false reading of voltage. TThings to do.
You really want to make sure the little 5/16" head screws on the output board are torqued, something like 13 inch/lbs on the caps and 20 inch/lbs on the rest of the board. ( I use the #6 setting on my Makita clutch drill for all of them)

i'd remove and reinstall ALL the molex connectors on the boards to reseat the pins. Also look for corrosion anywhere else at same time.

Now if you took out SR1 bridge, the chances you took out or damaged the main on/off switch are pretty good. It may work, however there may be resistance on the contacts, something to check.

I have a HEL p-6 code on a xmt 304 how do I fix it

Sounds like a input power problem . Make sure voltage is correct coming to the unit and wired correctly. I checked a Miller welder recently ,auto link that would come on and weld but not good . Took cover off and it was wired wrong .

When im welding the xmt 304 machine will arc out and the volts will say HE.L and the amps will say P.5 its like it loses ground what does the volts and amps mean when it says that.

Help 5 Display Indicates the right side of the unit has overheated.

The unit has shut down to allow the fan to cool it. Operation will continue when the unit has cooled.

If unit overheats, output stops, a Help 5 message is displayed, and cooling fan runs.

Wait fifteen minutes for unit to cool.

To avoid this problem Reduce amperage or voltage, or duty cycle before welding.
