Cancelled navigation mode on icom IC-M411vhf marine radio! how do I restore it?

I am a marine electronics technician with 28 years experience. I have also been a licensed amateur radio operator for the past 12 years. Based on my professional experience with both brands (Icom and Yaesu), I have to advise you to go with one of the Icom units. The Yaesu is a good radio, but Icom's customer support is far superior. I have had no problems dealing with their service department over the years, something I can't say about Yaesu.

Sorry, but your radio is limited to 16 channels in the 400-430 and 440-470 MHz ranges. The number of channels cannot be expanded, nor can the frequency coverage.

SOURCE: I recently bought a new icom ic-41s from my

1. Select the channel you want to adjust the CTCSS/DTCS squelch on.
2. Press and hold the "Set Mode" button on the top of the radio for 2 seconds to enter set mode.
3. Push the top button again several times until "C" appears.
4. Push "Scan/Tag" to toggle the CTCSS tone frequency/DTCS code setting modes.
5. Push "CH Up" or "CH Down" to set the desired CTCSS/DTCS code or remove the codes by rotating it to "0" or "OFF."
6. When the tones are set as you wish press and hold the "set" button at the top of the radio again for 2 seconds to exit.
7. Done.
