Problem for Durabrand PDV-705 Portable DVD Player
DVD says loading.... but keeps turning, stops, turns, stops
I have never had trouble with this unit before. Have always taken care of it. This happens with portable battery and without. Cannot get videos to play anymore. Simple fix???? DVD Durabrand PDV-705

- I took the unit apart and looked over the sliding lense and found that a small piece of the gasket broke off and was blocking the lazer from going past the second track. When we cleaned it out with tiny screwdriver, it works beautifully. I ran a dvd lense cleaning and it couldn't be better. Thank you, (I didn't think that tooth paste would go well with the wiring board.)Best Solution

It is a problem with the laser. Getting a lens cleaner could help, but it is doubtful. Your best bet, tap the unit while the disk is trying to load.
There is a motor that moves the laser into place. Often the motor burns out or it does not focus correctly after a while. Sometimes, they just get stuck. A tap may kick start the motor into place if it is stuck. Most likely, you will have to replace the unit.
P.S. Toothpaste and electronics don't mix. CD players get extremely hot. You will eventually be cleaning Crest out of your DVD player.
