Hi, set your machine to 60 degree wash, add 1/2 a cup of Washing Soda Crystals and run the machine with no washing in at all...
Your drain will sparkle. All the gunge will be cleared from the door seal, and your washer will be lovely and clean...
Add 1 desert spoonful of Washing Soda to every wash... I sprinkle it along the crease in the door seal.
There was black spotted mold festering for ages and little by little this is disappearing and the washer is keeping lovely and clean... and my drain, which was always gungy and collected leaves, is now really clean and the leaves dont stick anymore, so easy to clear away.
Washing Soda Crystals come in 1kg bags and cost around 50p from most supermarkets... They stock it at Asda, Sainsbury's and Morrisons for deffinate.
All the best

SOURCE: smoke coming from back of
You may have overloaded the washer and the belt drive system could not handle that excess mass.. The smoke and burning smell is a belt melting while trying to rotate the drum.. I would unload it .. gain access to the drive mechanism ( probably via an access panel in the back but may not be.. - brand and model specific).. and then check for damage to the drive belt.. You may look at the pulley system and look for burnt black from melted belt on it.. You could also have a clog in your pump that the belt drives but can't ( because of that clog) and therefore the belt rubs over the pump pulley and melts.. Could be any one of those things.. Hope that helps..
SOURCE: Washing Machine smell
The problem comes from the design of the front load washers. There is always a little water left in the tub after the machine is used. Running a bleach load will deal with the mildew until the machine is used again. I leave the door open when I am not using my washer, and this does help.
SOURCE: Cant open door of washing machine
I plugged it out. Left it for 15 minutes. When I went back the door could be opened and it also started to wash.
