SOURCE: machine will not drain and spin

you need a new one of these. i took mine COMPLETELY apart and found the impeller jammed. the impeller is a magnet in a sealed plastic carrier with an electro magnet around it. the electro magnet energizes , the two opposing fields spin the inner magnet ( just like a fish tank filter good idea actually!) the inner magnet on mine had a slight crack from factory causing vibration and allowing debris past the seal then jamming the impeller. to check yours drain it with the small drain tube, then get a towel or two and place around the unit at the floor.pull the large black drain cover off and after the gushing tidal wave look inside. you will see the white impeller. try turning it with w screw driver , pen or whatever. you may be able to remove and then clean / reassemble and be good as new. i only needed two tools to tear the machine apart. a Phillips screwdriver and pliers to get the clamps on the pump (2) and the clamp back on the door to drum gasket.

Try sliding a thin putty knife rearward at each front corner of the top while lifting upward slightly. Shine a light into the joint and look for metal joining the two halves. Once the top is loose, look for screws in the inside front edges and lift up on the front panel to release. Make sure to pull the power plug while working in there.

Partial heat

when was the last time you cleaned out the dryer and vent line?all a dryer does is move air,if the dryer hasn't been cleaned it won't dry the clothes.your model has the lint filter on top, unplug the dryer, pull it out away from the wall, disconnect the vent line from the back, now pull it out so you can work on the back, first pull out the lint filter and remove the 2 phillips screws in front of it on the top panel, now go in the back and remove the back wall,on the left side you'll see the metal duct that the lint filter slides down into, remove the 4 screws and you already removed the other 2 screws on top so now you can remove the metal duct and clean it out,vac up ant lint in the back,if you have a shop vac set it up to blow and blow out the blower wheel and the heater duct on the right side, after it's all cleaned up put it back together but don't put the 2 top screws in,after you have it back together clean out the vent line,if it's a long run i use a leaf blower, stick the leaf blower into the vent line and blow it out to the outside, just make sure the outside duct is clear,no cage or anything that will block the lint, put the vent line back on and push the dryer back, now pop the top and clean out the front of dryer,i'll send you a viideo on how to take the dryer apart.

good luck and if you know the heat is working most likely you have a block somewhere and you should do this once a year so your clothes will dry on time,if you see that it takes more time to dry your clothes this is where to start also so you don't have a dryer fire.

your lint filter is on top so unplug it,remove the lint filter and the two screws on top in front of the filter, get a screw driver, stick in into the space where the top and front meet around two iches from each corner and lift up,pop the top up,on the right side you'll see the door switch harness, get a small screw driver, stick into the harness to separate it,pull it apart and then look at the right and left side a few inches down and you'll see a 5/16 inch screw one on each side, remove them and pull up on the front panel,,pull up first on right side then left side.now reach in on the right side, stick your head inside the drum and lift the drum with right shoulder, pull up on the belt pulley and remove the belt, first look at how the belt connects to the motor so when you reinstall it you know how it goes.now lift the top and pull the drum.there's a kit that comes with the belt rollers and new pulley, change out these parts and your noise should be gone, also while you're in there vac up all the lint, put the dryer back together but don't reinstall the two screws on top, pull out the dryer and remove the vent line and back wall,on the left side remove the four screws that hold the metal duct in place, clean out the duct and vac up any lint, put that back together and the two screws on top,if the vent line is long,i use a leaf blower to blow out the vent line,if you clean out the dryer once a year and the vent line you'll hardly have any problems with this dryer,.watch this video and good luck,if you need any other help with any appliance let me know and hopefully we can get it done.

Filter

If this one is like mine (and it looks just like it except my Lasko doesn't have the wood grain on the front) there is no filter inside. It is just a fan inside a plastic case.

If you want to clean it, you can try blowing it out with compressed air if you have a powerful enough compressor. If you really want to clean it, you will have to take it apart and that isn't as simple as it sounds if your unit is just like mine.

There are a bunch of screws on the back, which isn't too bad except one of them is a triangle headed "security screw" that is probably there to keep you from taking it apart. I looked at several stores and couldn't find a screwdriver to fit the stupid thing. So what I did was that I took out the rest of the screws, pried the case open as far as I could with my hands and cut the support that the last screw was attached to from inside with a strong pair of wire cutters.

I figured that when I put it back together, I wouldn't miss that one screw and I wouldn't want to deal with a triangle head screw every time I took it apart in the future anyway.

Once the case is apart, I found the best way to clean the blades is to remove the whole blade assembly and just wash the thing out in the tub and let it dry thoroughly before putting it back in. There's a metal brace (Held on by two screws) at the top the top spindle goes into and there's a single screw on the shaft of the motor that hold the bottom spindle in. It probably sounds more complicated than it is. It's pretty simple when you see it.

If you put it back together right, you almost can't do anything wrong. You might want to take a damp cloth and wipe down the interior of the case and the shrouds that surround the blades as well. If you've had it a while, they'll be dirty. You'll see/feel the dirt wherever it is. This thing is a pretty simple machine and is easy to clean once you figure it out. I put a few drops of oil on the top spindle when I put mine back together.

Kenmore Model 110.68422700; the dryer cycles all the settings

when was the last time you cleaned out the dryer?you should clean the dryer once a year anyway so try this, unplug the dryer, remove the lint filter, take out the 2 phillips screws in front of the filter on the top panel.pull out the dryer, remove the vent line from the back of dryer and remove the back panel.on the left side you'll see the duct that the filter slides down into, take out the 4 screws that hold it in and remove it and clean it out,vac off the back of dryer,if you have a shop vac put it on blow and blow out the blower wheel and the heater and blow out the duct to get it clean.if the vent line is long i use a leaf blower to blow out the vent line,go outside first and make sure the duct outside is not blocked with any lint or anything and make sure the flapper opens freely.put it back together, except for the 2 phillips screws on top, with a screw driver pop up the top panel, there are 2 clips on each side that locks the top panel to the frame, just stick the screw driver in between the front panel and the top panel and pop it up,you'll see 2 5/16 screws one on each side around 4 inches down from the top on the inside, remove them and disconnect the door switch harness, use a screw driver to stick in between the harness to pull it apart to make it easier to get it apart, pull up on the front panel one side at a time and remove the front panel, vac out the inside of dryer, blow off the motor and blow all the lint from the back to the front so you don't have to pull the drum,if you know how to reinstall the belt take out the drum, the timer moves when the heat shuts down but if the dryer is loaded with lint the heater will not run correctly because of bad air movement and the clothes won't dry so try this first and let me know what happens

How to open front of kenmore dryer to clean out lint

next time send model number, unplug the dryer,if the filter is on top remove the filter and the two phillips screws in front of the filter on the top cover,go to the front and with a screw driver pop the top up,there is a clip one on each side around two inches from each side just pop up the top,use the screw driver and slide it in between the plastic piece of the wire connector and pull apart the door switch harness on the right side,it's hard to just pull it apart, now you'll find a 5/16 inch screw one on each side around 4 inches from the top, take them out and pull the front panel up one side at a time, vac out the front of dryer,if you have a shop vac blow off the motor, alot of lint gets stuck in the motor, put that back together but don't put back the 2 screws on top,now slide out the dryer, remove the vent line and take off the back panel,on the left side you'll see the duct that the filter slides into, take out the 4 screws that hold it in and remove it and clean it out,put it back together,if the vent line is a long run from the dryer to the outside vent i use a leaf blower to blow out the vent line, check the outside to make sure nothing is blocking that, stick your hand in there or a brush and clean out the opening if it needs it.
if the filter is on the inside, remove the bottom panel, remove the lint filter, take off the duct that the filter slides into and clean it out,if you have a shop vac blow all the lint from the back forward so you don't have to remove the drum to clean it,again blow out the vent line if it's a long run.do this once a year so you don't have a fire and the dryer will run like it should and parts will last longer, good luck

Replace a door switch

I assume that it;s an older model. If so you will need to access the inside of the door. Normally you can take the two screws out that are located at the opening where your lint filter is. Then use a putty knife or flat blade screw driver and slide it between the lid and the front. There is a clip toward each corner. Push in on the clip and the front will come off from the top. Now take the two screws out that hold the door switch and unplug wires from it. Now replaced it and put dryer back together the same way you took apart.

I have f18 message and need bit of help with the solution

We had the same problem with opening the pump cover;
The solution was taking more of the washing machine apart because there was something blocking it from the inside and preventing it from opening.
Trying to force it may cause more damage so unplug everything and tip it backwards - no need to lie it flat, do it just enough so it is stable and doesn't fall over.
Take off the front bottom panel on the machine.
Undo the screw holding the filter housing to the front of the machine and lower it inside the machine, next unscrew the hoses and disconnect the wiring from it. This will allow you to pull the filter out completely and to open it up.
Clean the pump, check that there's nothing in the pipes/hoses and then put it all back together again in reverse order to which you took it apart in. (i.e. put together the last part you took apart and work backwards).
