Open the main front cover and you will see the white plastic waste toner bottle on the left hand side halfway up. I lies on its side and you can see the bottom of it.

Slide it out gently keeping it level to avoid spilling all the waste toner.

Either replace with a fresh empty waste bottle or empty the bottle into a large plastic bag you can keep sealed with the bottle inside while you shake it.

You have a good chance of spilling the toner all over your clothes if you are not carefull and note that the waste toner IS HIGHLY INFLAMMABLE so no naked flames nearby!!

We just took one apart and yes the waste toner container is there, but hidden behind the door with the power switch. You must take 1 screw out first. I emptied it into a bag...."carefully". Then wiped off the outside of the container

Don't breath in the ink as it is nasty stuff. If you get it on your hands make sure you wash them with soap and water after. In my photocopier days, the ink gets in the nasal passages and coats them, skin on my fingers cracked all up.

Be careful not to spill the ink out of the cartridge after, as my Colleague just did all over the hallway as he walked not paying attention.

As a side note, if you are cleaning the ink out of a photocopier, etc. Use a very good vacuum, preferably one with an "ink bag". Instead of leaving ink around in the copier machine that is hard to get at...take a small paint brush and brush the surfaces with a vacuum close by sucking up the dust. This works very very well!

Turn off the printer and open the front door and check at the left corner of the lower part you will see a white can slip it gently out to where there is no fire and gently pour the waste out from a hole out may into a bag and dispose there after replaced the can to its position, close the printer and turn it on again.

We have a Ricoh Aficio CL3500N and are getting an error stating: "Used toner is almost full." No manual to refer to. Thank you!!

Hi there, You can just empty the waste toner bottle. here is what you need to do. Here is also a manual for your machine http://support.ricoh.com/bb_v1oi/html/oi/re/model/cl3500/cl3500en.htm Detailed instructions on cleaning the Waste toner bottle on Page 32 of the Maintenance Guide. Instead of replacing just empty it. Just be careful as the toner is toxic so you can also vacuum the toner out of the Waste Toner Bottle.

How do i empty the used toner?

WAIT!!! Don't let Ricoh Steal your money...

You're going to get a little bit dirt with the trick, but there is no need to buy a empty waste toner bottel

Empty the waste toner bottle inside a plastic bag, the dust is kind of azard!!!, when the bottle is empty, clean it from the outside.
Place the bottle in the printer, (This is just for reference only), in the right side of the bottle you're going to see a plastic tag all dirty (You see it?) OK!!, remove the bottle from the printer, and then very carfully remove that plastic tag from the bottle taking care of not ripping it off, now clean the plastic tag, and put it in place again, and now your printer is ready to work!!!!!
Where's the trick?, The printer has a Photo sensor that is "looking" trugh this plastic tag, when the plastic tag is full of toner, the sensor can't get the signal, and then it says that the waste bottle is full..!!!

TONY!!
