Take the Huawei S2700-9TP-SI-AC for example:
After the VLAN translation function is enabled for the Huawei S2700 switch, the 128 module problem exists because the chip difference supports only 128 VLAN TO VLAN entries.
The packets received through the port are processed as the VLAN smaller than 128. The calculation method is (vlanid)%128.
Therefore, for a VLAN greater than 128, port vlan-mapping vlan id map-vlan id, that is, the mapping from the VLAN to the same VLAN, must be configured for the transparent transmission to be implemented.

DHCP Users Go Online Through the S2700, But Cannot Access the Internet. Why?


When a large number of DHCP users go online through the S2700, the S2700 generates a large number of dynamic DHCP snooping binding entries. On the S2700 V1R6C00SPC800, the software provides incorrect priority settings for DHCP snooping binding entries and IP source guard and DAI ACL rules, and the ACL rules have a higher priority than DHCP snooping binding entries. As a result, the software delivers the ACL rules but not DHCP snooping binding entries. User packets cannot be forwarded because no binding entry is available.
Solution: Install S2700SPH006, enable DHCP users to go online again, and reconfigure IP source guard and DAI on the physical interface from which DHCP users go online.

After a Large Number of VLANIF Interfaces Are Configured on the S3700/S5700EI, the CPU Usage Becomes High. Why?


When one VLANIF interface is configured on the S3700/S5700EI, the switch delivers an ACL to match ARP packets in the corresponding VLAN so that the matched packets are sent to the control plane. If more than eight VLANIF interfaces are configured on the S3700 or more than 32 VLANIF interfaces are configured on the S5700EI, the switch delivers only one ACL to match all ARP packets in the corresponding VLAN so that all these packets are sent to the control plane for processing. This ACL also matches Layer 2 ARP packets on other interfaces in the same VLAN. If too many Layer 2 ARP packets are forwarded, the control plane is overloaded and the CPU usage becomes high.

What Are the Differences in AP-side Switch Interface Configuration and Intermediate Switch Configuration in Direct and Tunnel Forwarding Modes?


Differences in configuration on switch interfaces connected to APs are as follows:

In tunnel forwarding mode, interfaces connected to APs transparently transmit only packets of the management VLAN. These interfaces must be added to the management VLAN in untagged mode. In direct forwarding mode, interfaces connected to APs must be trunk or hybrid interfaces. These interfaces must be added to the management VLAN in untagged mode and added to service VLANs in tagged mode. If a trunk interface is connected to an AP, the PVID of the interface must be set to the management VLAN ID.


Differences in configuration on intermediate switches are as follows:

In tunnel forwarding mode, intermediate switches transparently transmit only packets of the management VLAN. In direct forwarding mode, intermediate switches transparently transmit packets of both the management VLAN and service VLANs.

Can the S2700 Switch Function as a Gateway?


The S2700 switch cannot be used as a gateway. The S2700 is a Layer 2 switch. If it is used as a gateway, it sends all packets that need to be forwarded at Layer 3 to the CPU to forward the packets through software. This causes a high CPU usage. Because CAR parameters are configured to protect the CPU, a large number of packets are dropped, affecting forwarding of service packets.

How to Enable a Switch to Transparently Transmit BPDUs That Are Discarded by Default?


You can enable a switch to transparently transmit BPDUs in the following modes:
1. Run the bpdu bridge enable command to enable the port bridge function. Then the switch can transparently transmit all BPDUs.
2. Globally specify the group MAC address of BPDU for the inbound and outbound ports of two edge switches on the network, and enable the L2PT transparent transmission function of the protocol for the ports.
Incoming BPDUs are replaced with the group MAC address, converted to data packets, and forwarded in the VLAN. Configure the L2PT function in the outbound port to replace the group MAC address with the BPDU MAC address.

How to stop user privately setting up a static IP address?


Huawei S2300/3300/5300 series switch although no H3C switches am user-bind command, but through the DHCP Snooping function can also be realized IP+MAC+ port binding to prevent users set up a static IP address. The following is an excerpt from cisco.com defining policy drops and their possible causes:

This drop is usually seen when a port is not configured correctly. This drop is incremented when a packet cannot be successfully forwarded within switch ports as a result of the default or user configured switch port settings. The following configurations are the likely reasons for this drop:

blank.gifThe nameif command was not configured on the VLAN interface.

Note blank.gifFor interfaces in the same VLAN, even if the nameif command was not configured, switching within the VLAN is successful, and this counter does not increment.

blank.gifThe VLAN is shut down.

blank.gifAn access port received an 802.1Q-tagged packet.

blank.gifA trunk port received a tag that is not allowed or an untagged packet.

blank.gifThe security appliance is connected to another Cisco device that has Ethernet keepalives. For example, Cisco IOS software uses Ethernet loopback packets to ensure interface health. This packet is not intended to be received by any other device; the health is ensured just by being able to send the packet. These types of packets are dropped at the switch port, and the counter increments.

blank.gifThe VLAN only has one physical interface, but the DEST of the packet does not match the MAC address of the VLAN, and it is not the broadcast address

Sending DHCP request across diffrent vlans


Hmm... on your DHCP server, try setting the "default router" IP for each pool to be the VLAN ID on the switch.

scope 172.16.0.0 /24
router 172.16.0.1

scope 10.20.8.0 /22
router 10.20.8.1

I think the DHCP replies aren't going back where they should. I've never done this without a router doing all the DHCP, but it does work and i've done it many times. Your config looks spot on for the switch.
