My John Deere rinding lawn mower won't go forword or backwards

John Deere mowers, for the most part, use hydrostatic transmissions. These use an oil of some type (they vary by model) in the transaxle to provide hydraulic pressure to move the tractor. Older tractors will eventually experience some oil leakage over time due to seal wear. If the level gets too low, then you fail to move. Check the oil level in the transaxle. The location of the reservoir varies from model to model. If it is low, after determining the correct oil to use, fill to proper level. Then, start the tractor and work the hydrostatic drive lever forward and backward slowly and continuously until you get full speed operations in both forward and reverse. This can take a few minutes until all the air has been purged from the system.

Springs, or valve seats in the control valve need repair. Or at least my wild guess, with some understanding of hydraulics, in general.

How to bleed hyrdro fluid line

aahh this is a zero turn model right? as when bleeding any hydraulic line NEVER take line completly off just loosten it till it Weeps fluid and don't get your skin any place close to escaping fluid (yes it will go right thru your outter layer of skin) anyways zero turns have a equalizing line that runs between the two control lever valves (right, left side) this is the ideal place to bleed trapped air and of course use extreeme caution with the blade deck as you'll be working right over it and remember even though the blades are dissengauged there still turning a bit , so they can get you!! i suggest open fitting enough to allow weep then close for a bit then open again do this several times to release trapped air ooh and don';t forget to top off hydraulic oil again with fresh fluid (don't reuse old oil )

My john deere 316 stopped moving forward and reverse and the hydrolics stop on the blade. what could cause this?

HAVE YOU CHECKED THE TRANSMISSION/HYDRAULIC
OIL? THEY ARE THE SAME. ON SOME TRACTORS THIS
CAN BE CHECKED AT THE REAR OF THE TRACTOR JUST
BELOW THE SEAT. IT COULD ALSO BE A BAD HYDRAULIC
PUMP.

JD 355D lawn tractor...all hydraulics sound as if there is no fluid...but fluid is full. The power steering, the mower deck all squeel loudly. forward and revers work perfectly fine. Any insight?

sounds like you have a bad hydraulic hose caving on the inside causing lack of flow there for squeeling. watch the hoses as you changed direction problem hose should move more than others.
