SOURCE: DirecTV remote won't work unless we are within 6

Replace remote battery with a new one. It may not be transmitting enough power to work more than 6 feet from the TV.

SOURCE: need IR code for Hisense 32" LCD tv to program

Are you referring to the iPhone/iPad app? if yes then this is not a remote app, it's a management app made for Comcast boxes and nothing else it doesn't controls tv's.
If you are referring to the actual remote for one of the Comcast boxes then it all depends on what model of remote you have and the exact model of your tv - some will support it thru the use of a Daewoo or Samsung code, others don't.
So you have 2 options:
1 - you try every Daewoo and Samsung code you have in the manual and if that fails you do a code scan on the remote as explained in the manual:
Turn on your TV
Press the TV button on the top of the remote, then press and hold Setup until the TV light blinks twice
Enter 9-9-1 and the TV button will blink twice
Press and release 1 and the TV button will blink twice
Point the remote at the TV, press and release the Power button, then press the CH+ button multiple times until the TV turns off
Press Setup once to lock in the code and the TV button will blink twice
If even that fails - the tv doesn't shuts down - then the remote is incompatible to the tv so
2 - you get a remote that is compatible with both. The only one i could find is

SOURCE: We replaced the IR sensor on our Vizio but still cannot control the volume via the remote (which has tested good). Any further suggestions?

Since sensor is receiving the signal of other inputs, there is nothing wrong with it. This looks like an incompatibility issue. You may have to retry using the original remote control.

The ir sensor is not working

The failure to IR sensor inside the TV is a very rare case. Check the infrared emission to the remote control first. Check it with fresh batteries. Make sure that it works well, before trying to replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details, http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Pull up older posts.

M420mv vizio led television ir infrared doesnt work

that can be caused by either the IR sensor board or the main board. The IR sensor board would be suspected first. You can get the IR board or the main board from www.tvrepairworld.com

My tv [vizio vf550m] won't respond to a remote.

Vizio is famous for having main board issues. If you have replaced the IR board the only two other items it could be is a broken wire from the IR to main or the main board has an issue. Nothing else can stop the remote from working provided the remote is working properly.

Vizio m470sv remote stopped working, bought a vizio replacement remote...still no good????

What you are dealing with is not a bad remote controller, the problem is from your IR Sensor. You will need to replace this IR Sensor. You Vizio TV has a common defect with the IR Sensor. Make sure you order the revised version so you don't encounter this problem again. You can find the IR Sensor here: 3637 0022 0189 0171 1671 0892 Vizio IR Sensor

Hey there, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Service here. It sounds like you are going to need to readdress your DISH remote to your new Vizio TV. We have a few different codes for each of our different models of remotes. You will be able to locate the model number of your remote on the back of the remote at the top usually a two to three digit number with a decimal point. I will list here for you the best codes for Vizio TVs as well as the instructions for addressing the remote to your TV. I hope you find this information useful and if you have any further questions or concerns feel free to email directly at Cheri.Torres@Dishnetwork.com.

Codes for Vizio TVs
3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 3.4 IR remotes - 505, 671, 627 and 766.

Instructions for addressing your remote to your TV.

  2. Press and hold the TV mode button until all other mode buttons light up red.
  3. Enter the three-digit code using the buttons on the number pad.
  4. Press the pound(#) button once. Note: The LED will flash three times.

Vizio remote control not working

Hi, I had the same problem. My vizio remote for my 42 inch 2 month old vizio also seemed to stop working. Here's what I did: My vizio remote (like most remote's nowadays) was designed for multiple components (tv, dvd, vcr, etc). All you need to do to make the remote work again is set it back to tv. Now, the confusing thing about vizio remotes is that they actually have TWO places where you can switch the remote to the appliance you want to control. One is on top of the remote, the other is on the BOTTOM. Switch it back to TV using the BOTTOM. My remote had stopped working because I had inadvently switched it to another component on the BOTTOM component switch.
