What is obsidianite

Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass formed as an extrusive igneous rock.
It is produced when felsic lava extruded from a volcano cools rapidly with minimum crystal growth. Obsidian is commonly found within the margins of rhyolitic lava flows known as obsidian flows, where the chemical composition (high silica content) induces a high viscosity and polymerization degree of the lava. The inhibition of atomic diffusion through this highly viscous and polymerized lava explains the lack of crystal growth. Obsidian is hard and brittle; it therefore fractures with very sharp edges, which had been used in the past in cutting and piercing tools, and has been used experimentally as surgical scalpel blades. Obsidianite (ite is a diminuitive [meaning small])

What is the prefix and suffix for the word obsidian?

Its an Igneous rock, obsidian-esk could mean 'having similar properties to obsidian'. Pseudo-obsidian could describe a material that mimicks obsidian.
There is no real prefix or suffix, you can use different adjectives to describe it.

Dimplex obsidian

The bulbs called for (60W) do get VERY hot...
(but the owners manual I found indicate a 60W
USA style lamp... (appeared to be a E16 (Edison)).

Euro lamps have higher voltage
(and FRANKLY speaking) better heat tolerance...

If you are terribly in love with this unit.. I would first
suggest calling the "SUPPORT" to see if their
"ENGINEERING" already has a solution...

ELSE you should be looking for a couple CERAMIC
(like glazed porcelain) sockets and prepare to
FIELD ENGINEER a proper/safe remedy...

My best suggestion...
Call support
Dimplex Obsidian OBS20 User Manual Page 9

Then contact your favorite hardware... (or LAMPS +)
and ASK the MOST COMMON clear candelabra bulb socket
That sports a CERAMIC type socket... E12 or E14 ...

When I was "converting" a Spanish chandelier..
I used GLAZED Porcelain "EDISON twelves" (E12).
> Keyless Porcelain Adjustable Candelabra Candle Socket

FINELED E12 Mini Candelabra Screw ceramic lampholder socket with 10 inch...

Sunlite 60CFC 32 12PK Candelabra E12 Base Flame Tip 60W Incandescent...

Hope this helps
