You can Not do either.
You can't change an imei. and straighttalk will not allow another carriers phone to be used on their services.
Straight talk only uses versions towers. The rest of the company is Tracfone. Tracfone doesn't play well with othere

You didn't provide the name of the service provider, e.g., Tracfone, Virgin, etc.) but they will all reactivate your phone. They all carry the same offer:
We offer the least expensive way to own and use a cell phone in America. No contracts, credit checks, activation charges or cancellation fees. And no surprises! Brand name phones from leading manufacturers like Motorola, Kyocera, LG, Nokia and Samsung. Choose from simple "Candy Bar" phones, to Bluetooth-enabled "Smart" phones.

What do you want to do? Unlock your phone to take the Straight Talk Card? If so then take it to a phone shop and they can unlock it for any network!
