I have a 50hp Johnson motor. I am unable to raise the motor with the electric switch, ( it does work letting the motor down) my question is, Is there a way to lift the motor manually?

Yes there is a way to do it manually. You will have to bridge the post on the selinoid using a screwdriver. Touch the 2 post on the selinoid with a screwdriver. Or replace the selinoid to fix it correctly.
