Hi Steven, it's Jack at Dyson.

If your machine isn't picking up from the cleaner head, this may be due to a blockage. The filter may also need a wash. To check for any obstructions, please follow the steps shown in our online Support guide: http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc07/dc07-animal/my-machine-is-not-working/machine-not-sucking-picking-up-as-well-as-usual/how-to-wash-filters/wand-suction

In normal use, DC07's filter needs to be washed at least once every 3-6 months, as shown in the video attached. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 12 hours for the filter to dry completely before replacing it.

If you do need any further advice after you've given this a try, please get in touch with us directly. You can reach our experts by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

Best wishes,

My vacuum throws dirt out and hits my feet.

Hi Peggy,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC07. From what you described, it sounds as if your machine has a blockage. The filter may also need a wash.

Although I note you already took it apart, please follow the steps shown in our online Support guide to make sure you haven't missed anything:

http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc07/dc07-animal/my-machine-is-not-working/machine-not-sucking-picking-up-as-well-as-usual/how-to-wash-filters/wand-suction

In normal use, the filter needs to be washed at least once every 3-6 months, as shown in the video below. We'd recommend using cold water without detergent. Leave the filter somewhere warm to dry, such as in an airing cupboard or by a radiator, for at least 12 hours, and make sure you don't replace the filter in the machine before it's totally dry.

This should resolve the issue, but if you'd like any further assistance or advice, please give our customer Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

Best wishes,

The motor on my Dyson Animal DC07 is getting very hot. I've always kept the filters and such clean. Is there any maintenance I am to be doing with the motor?

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

From your description of the problem, it sounds as though there is a lack of airflow to the motor which is caused by a blockage in the machine or a dirty filter.

To check your machine for a blockage, please refer to your user guide or visit the support section on our website at www.dyson.com. It is worth checking that both parts of the filter have been thoroughly cleaned.

If you are still experiencing difficulties, please contact our Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK) or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Kind regards
Darran

Dyson Animal .. how to get to Chyclone chambers for cleaning??

The cyclone assembly is glued and cannot be taken apart. The best way of cleaning it , is to remove the top held on with three hex screws , the bottom collecting vessel and the perforated filter. Then blast the cyclones from above with either a pressure washer or hose with a high water pressure source. Leave to completely dry , then reassemble.

My Dyson animal vacumn refuses to pick anything up, even a tiny piece of lint?????? It was working fine for awhile. I paid $500.00 for this cleaner at Target because I have 4 inside cats.

remove the vacuum debris recepticle and pull up on the filter cover..
You can:

2. wash and dry thoroughly and replace should fix problem
...I have a spare filter to use while other is drying..you can purchase off the Dyson site..
Caution be sure filter cover snaps shut before using

Dyson animal

Is the noise a loud screaming or a grinding/vibration? The screaming is an air flow problem and you'll want to check your hoses are clear and all the seals are tight. The grinding is an issue with the roller/belt/clutch/motor/housing. From what I'm reading, both problems are common on the Dyson animal.
