SOURCE: what coloured wires go where on the main oven thermostat

If you are speaking of the 240v connection to hook up the oven to the electrical source, then white is the neutral(white to white), black is one of the 240v hot wires(black to black), and red is the other 240v hot wire(red to red).
Finally there is a bare or green color ground wire that goes to the bare or green wire form your source.
normally, the two outside wires on a terminal strip are the hot wires and the middle onif the neutral(white). It does not matter which wire(red or black) goes to what hot terminal at the appliance.
If you are talking about the internal wiring, I can get you a schematic of that.

I have a built in wall oven whirlpool gold mod.gbs309pvsoo controls turn on but no heat from element

Could be element could be Hi limit thermostat could be control. In that order. First step is turn breaker off and remove element to make sure the wires are still connected to back of element. Visually inspect element very good for burns or a white powder residue signally the element burned up. Next step is harder, need to remove the oven and take off back panel, there you will find the hi temp thermostat. Check for continuity, if none replace.

Whirlpool built in electric oven bake (bottom)heating element does not heat up only tot heats when in bake mode

CHECK FOR CRACKS IN THE BAKE ELEMENT. IF THE UNIT IS NOT HEATING THE BOTTOM, BUT THE TOP IS STILL HEATING, YOU MORE THAN LIKELY HAVE TO REPLACE THE ELEMENT. THIS IS A 220 VOLT OVEN WITH 110 VOLTS ALWAYS GOING TO THIS ELEMENT, SO TURNING OF THE BREAKER IS VITAL FOR SAFETY PURPOSES. WITH AN OHM METER, UNINSTALL THE ELEMENT AND CHECK BOTH WIRE CONNECTIONS FOR OHMS. YOU SHOULD GET SOME KIND OF READING BETWEEN 10 OHMS AND 500 OHMS. IF YOU'RE NOT AT LEAST GETTING A SOLID READING, REPLACE THIS ELEMENT.

BOUGHT A HOME IN UNION NJ WITH THE GE DOUBLE WALL OVEN TOP PART DOES NOT WORK BOTTOM PART BURNS THE FOOD NEED REPAIR PLS CALL ME AT 908-391-8942

The heating element in top unit may be loose or burned out. Push the element toward the back and see if it engages. If it is already engaged, you'll need to replace it. It is simple to remove it.Just give a firm tug and it should come right out. To replace with a new element, simply push it in firmly.
With the bottom unit, are controls set for bake? If they are set for "broil" you are using direct heat and it will cook foods more quickly. Also, is bottom unit a convection oven? If so, foods will cook in 1/4 to 1/2 the time for a conventional oven, so you'll have to adjust your temperature down about 25-50 degrees and shorten your cooking time.

Jennair model WW2780 Double oven. Top oven will not heat. Turn on with controls and immediately just shuts off again. Assume it is the heating element. Not sure how to replace element and reading advise on...

This is not your heating element. If the element comes on at all, it is not out. This is your electronic control board that is going out.

We have parts and instructions on how to replace the parts on your Jenn-Air oven.

Whirlpool built in double electric oven

Okay...a few more questions. Are both elements NOT working? That is, BROIL and BAKE features are now dead? If so, you may an Electronic Oven Control (EOC) board failure. This is the clock/timer for your range. All the oven features are typically controlled by the EOC.

If its just one element. More than likely the element has blown. You will need to unplug the range and remove the back panel in order to access the terminal lugs where the elements penetrate the back of the oven wall. There are a pair of terminals for each element. A resistance check across these terminals will vary, but should read something on the K ohm scale. If the continuity readings are infinite (open) replace the element. I have a link under my "Tips and Tricks" that explains how to do this, if needed.

Are you confused yet? If so, please post back and let me know.
