Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: buttonhole lever

If you remove the cover on the upper left portion of the machine, while looking from the left to the right.....Above the BH lever area, you will see a round cam with a post through the middle. Rotate the round can ( with fingers on it), and try again. This will change the angle position on the lever, and hopefully correct your problem. You may have to go a couple of clicks in either direction.

SOURCE: I need to know how to change the bulb on a brother

Hi, thank you for using FixYa! I don't see a model PS-33, however; you posted in the CS-8150 machine section, the link to the manual for a CS-8150 machine is attached. It has a section for winding and installing the bobbin and another section for upper threading. If your machine is not the CS-8150, please comment with the correct model number (PS machines start at number 1450 and increment upwards). If this is the correct manual, would you please take minute to rate this solution? Thank you! Gregg

SOURCE: Is there a manual for

If, you go to www.brother-usa.com you can download manuals for free. But, I did not see one for your model. Are you sure that is the right number? It may have more numbers on the machine itself, next to the serial number. If, that fails, call them at customer service 1-877-276-8437 and they can help you.

Buttonhole not sewing

Sounds like something's keeping the foot from moving freely. See: http://picturetrail.com/sfx/album/view/24536843 -- the aborted buttonhole to the left of the second photo was caused by the foot hitting the slightly raised lid of the accessory box. Ooops. Fix was to take off the accessory box.

Brother sewing machine cs2000i botton hole problem as follows the foot stays in place and does not feed. I have changed the thread, looked at the video, clean any clogs. What is it?

it does not specify if this machine is electronic or mechanical, but electronic sewing machine,,like mine have what is called a buttonhole lever & unless that buttonhole lever is pulled gently down the buttonhole maker will not work.
that may be the problem with the machine
or it maybe the feeddogs may not be working,,check the feeddog knob or lever to see what position it's in,,up position is for sewing & down position is for darning

Have you got a manual?
If not one is available free to download from the Brother site.
http://www.brother-usa.com/ModelDocuments/Consumer/Users%20Manual/UM_CS_6000_ES_2000_EN_185.PDF
Look on page 64 of the PDF file for the error codes.
E2 means:

Problem: A stitch other than the buttonhole or bar tack stitch was selected and the foot controller was pressed (or the start/stop button was pressed if the foot controller is not connected) while the buttonhole lever is lowered.

Solution: Raise the buttonhole lever
before continuing the operation.
Hope this helps!

Trying to do a buttonhole and it keeps telling me that the buttonhole lever is not down when it is.

Did you push it to the back a little? Sometimes that is all that it takes for it to engage, good luck

I have a Janome New Home machine and I was using my buttonhole lever and it seem to get stuck and now I think I pushed it too much and it is off track or I broke it. Can I fix this myself? It won't even go...

Sorry, I didn't see your second posting with the model number.

I'm not sure which screw you removed, but the buttonhole lever mechanism requires the service manual to reset the position.

Buttonholes

First be sure to follow the steps described in the manual for attaching the buttonholer.

Second, check that the buttonhole lever is pushed because it returns to it's unpushed state after a buttonhole is completed and therefore it will stitch in the same spot.

Also, try adjusting the stitch length. I've found that I can't make buttonholes while on the satin stich setting ( that little rectangle) but if I move it just a bit towards 1 it will manage to make the right stitches.
