Question about LG Ovens

Open Question

I have a LG refrigerator model: LFC20760ST. It stopped working all together. None of the LED panels work. None of the controls work. What now?

I asked a question of another tech and his abridged answer was not helpful. I have taken the PCB OR electronic control board out and visually inspected it. The two fuses are visually perfect. No burns, no blackened areas on the glass and no burnt parts on the board. Also, the board itself is not burnt. Can the PCB be damaged without any visuall sign? The breaker and the outlet have power.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Oven Control Panel Thermal Fuse

If the display is totally out it is likely the thermal fuse this is located where the wire connectors plug into the board it looks like a small resistor in a platic shrinkwrap type sleeve. test it with a continuity meter.

SOURCE: oven won't heat

Unplug the power cord for thirty minutes, this should reset the oven.
If this still does not work do the following:
Press clean and then cancel. This will reset the appliance.

If the error does not clear , then during the self cleaning cycle, the high temperature has probably damaged the temperature sensor probe, and it must be replaced.

SOURCE: GE Double Oven doors locked and circuit not responding

Hi, well this is a brain tester!! I think you need really to look at this in a simple way. Check to see where the door lock wires come from first? Find where the mains power comes into? then if it goes directly to the main control board then check to see if there is any power getting through the board to the otherside where the wires disapear into the cooker. I would consider checking the control board for any signs of burn damage and then look at the clock unit to as these are normally the main components in the cooker that will stop it from working.
Good luck,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

SOURCE: GE Profile Performance Spectra Range error code F0

F0 - F1 - F7 Stuck keypad may mean relay is turned on. Determine if problem is with the Key Panel or Control by:
1. Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs

If code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.

If code does not recur, problem is with the Key Panel.

Oh, you probably got this fixed already. If it happens again, it helps to take the control panel off, insert paper towel folded up neatly and slotted into the ribbon (it absorbs the moisture which causes the ribbon to short out). Sounds crazy but it's true! I saved our family hundreds of dollars with a piece of paper towel!

Disconnect power to the range.
Remove the rear panel cover.
Disconnect....then re-connect all the wires on the oven control.
Replace the panels.
Plug the range in and try it again.
If this does not work the ERC(clock) must be replaced.

This sounds like it blew the thermostat on the back of the lower oven. They are inexpensive and easy to replace. You will need to uninstall the unit and remove the back panel to acess. Check it for continuity if none replace. This is a fairly common failure due to the heat of the self cleaning. Here is a link to your part and diagrams are also available there AP3055316

"Door Lock" LED flashing

that means you have door or lock problem may be the door latch failed after the oven self-cleaned,the heat might have blown a thermal overload fuse.first unplug the range and check the wires and connectors between the control and the door switch for damage. if they are okay , pull the range out and remove the back panel. check for the small gear motor that controls the latch and rotate it to unlock the door. . In the open back panel, look to your 10 o'clock position for a round part about the size of a quarter fastened with two screws. You can find out if this is your problem by unscrewing the fuse and taking the wires out, then joining the two wires together. Plug in the oven and see if the led disappears and the door lock works again. If it works, that fuse was your problem. if not then its the door hinge but be careful when doing this,to avoid more damage to the oven
