The number you need is either on the glass bulb or on the metal base of the bulb Look on the access cover to see if the replacement number is there, too.

I have a Kodak Ektagraphic with no model listed on it at all. How can I find a replacement bulb, all I can find look wrong.

Supplied with 82V, 300W EXR lamp Projection Lamps Quartz-halogen 82 V projection lamps- Here is service manual link http://resources.kodak.com/support/pdf/en/manuals/slideProj/manual/ektagraphic_sm.pdf Several different Models all say EXR 300W As CORRECT Bulb : EXR, 300 W (35-hour lamp life at full lamp/medium-brightness) Sampling of other lamps: EXY (200 hours/less brightness) EXW (15 hours/maximum brightness) FHS (70 hours/medium brightness) Use combinations of lamp brightness, plus half- and full-lamp settings to approximate image brightness in multi-projector presentations. Lamp Tips • Projector operation on line voltages above 125 volts greatly reduces the lamp life. • Unplug the projector before changing the lamp. • Allow for unrestricted flow of air to the exhaust vent to prolong lamp life. • Gently wipe off any fingerprints with a soft cloth moistened with rubbing alcohol.

Can I buy a new Bell & Howell Slide Cube Projector?

No! They are no longer made due to the computer generation and slide presentations are usually made with laptops now. You should be able to find one good used one on eBay if interested find your model # of projector and look it up on ebay. They are usually in good condition but make sure lamp works on the one you are buying as these are expensive to replace. Rich

Bulb wont come on. its a balomatic 656 slide projector

Wow! An old Bausch & Lomb projector! While my expertise is with Kodak Slide Projectors, I can take an educated guess..... Most all projectors have thermal protection to prevent overheating and the disaster that COULD follow if not so equipped. This protection is typically built into the lamp circuit AND a separate protection built into the motor in the projector. These thermal protections could be in the form of a fuse (one shot, then it must be replaced) or a thermal circuit breaker (self-resets after a cooling-down period). A quick internet search didn't yield a whole lot of specifics - probably due to the vintage. I'm sure someone out there still has service manuals for this classic, which may provide both schematics and troubleshooting tips. Happy hunting !! Jim

My argus 300 projector bulb blew new one won't work

yes could have been a power surge at the time, or fan cooler packed it in, the internal housing inside the Projector would have been too hot with the bulb inside it cooling down without the fan, i would double check all parts near the lamp housing and check to see they have not melted or burnt, also worth checking the fuse as well should be a T-250 Fuse bulb

I have an OLD telex projector. Looks like a box with a tv screen on one side and carousel on top. have no idea how to use it. maybe bulb needs replacing

Telex called those "CaraMate XXXX" (XXXX usually relating to model number ). The old ones projected on the internal screen. Newer models could project both on the internal screen and (by sliding a door on the top panel) on a projection screen for larger audiences.
If it needs a lamp, check with: www.bulbman.com But you may have to search - - it's been a long time since they were manufactured!
Good Luck !!

Carousel eats bulbs. second bulb is newly purchased. i have another one however need to know if 20 minutes per bulb is the norm? can there be an electrical surge killing these bulbs?

You didn't identify what model projector you have, but 2 things give REALLY short lamp life: 1. A "bump" when the lamp is illuminated and 2. contact resistance.
Chances are it is contact resistance, and you should replace the lamp socket. If you want to do it yourself, you can get parts from a factory-trained dealer or you can have them make the repair. Typically a lamp (depending on the style) should last between 15 and 35 hours of actual run time.

Where on the Kodak Carousel projector do I find what model it is? I was using it to view slides, and the light went out.

Depending on the vintage, the model name could be in a couple of different spots: If it was manufactured prior to 1981, chances are that there is a nameplate on the front of the projector where the folding handle is.
If it was manufactured after 1981, then the model name is on the fixed handle on the side of the projector (the control panel). Every vintage used a different lamp technology, requiring a different voltage lamp. Lamps are available from Bulbman (www.bulbman.com).
