Try ch 3 and sat or cable input on tv. use menu on original tv remote to set input as sat or cable.. then use dish remote for all other changes.

Have a 17 yr old Magnavox and am unable to sellect aux channel so the dish will work

Hi there, my name is Kimberly and I form part of the Social Media Dept with DISH. It is my pleasure to help you today. The channel or Input in which the Tv needs to be on in order to receiver DISH signal depends on the type of cable being used to connect the DISH receiver to the TV. If you are currently using a Coax cable the TV needs to be on channel 3 or 4 in order to get a pic, if you are using RCA cables it will need to be an Input. To change inputs on the TV we advice you to use the original remote for the TV or the Input/Source button on the Tv itself. Feel free to contact me at: kimberly.escobar@dish.com for additional assistance.

What channel does the tv have to be on - I have dish network - do I leave the dish off or on and move it to a certain channel?

First check what channel or input your TV is currently on bypowering the TV off then back on and noting the channel or input that appearson screen when the TV is powered on. If you are using a Coax Cable toconnect the receiver to TV1, check the receiver's back panel for the outputname. If your receiver has a "TV CH 3/4 out" (non-ViPReceiver): Tune TV to channel 3 or channel 4, if it has"Home Distribution" output (ViP Receiver): Tune TV to channel 62or 75. If using non-Coax (RCA, Component, or HDMI) to connectreceiver to TV1, cycle through the inputs until picture appears. In your casesince you have the Toshiba XDE500 connected between the receiver and TV, tuneTV and component to channel 3/4 (coax) or correct input. Hope this helps, andhank you for being a valued DISH Network customer!

How do i get dish network to work on rca f25422 tv

Well, you have a couple options with this. You can use either coax cable, or RCA cables. If you use coax, you want to connect it on the receiver that says TV set out, and out the tv set on channel 3 or 4. If you use RCA cables, you want to connect these to the color coded connections on the back of the receiver labeled with a Green 1. The tv will need to be on channel 3 or 4, and a video in put, usually Video 1 or 2.

I have dish network and dont know what channel to go to in order to use my dvd player. I cant find my manual.

Hi my nameis Mike Houston of DISH Network and I was going over your post and see you wantto watch a DVD and not sure what channel or input the TV should be on. Whilewatching a DVD the connectors may be RCA cables (Red, Yellow, White), if those arethe connections you will want to put the TV on either Video1 or Input1. Whilethe DISH Network should be connected to the TV by Coax cable (it will have ascrew on connection). The TV channel should be set to ch3 or ch4, if you haveany questions please e-mail me at michael.houston@dishnetwork.com.

I want to connect dvd recorder to dish network solo dvr vip 612 that is split for two tvs.

Hey! This is Becki Barned, with Dish Network customer service!!! You may have already gotten this taken care of, but either way, here are some steps if you still need some help! How I imagine you have this set up, is that you have RCA cables going from the receiver to the main tv. In this case, you will want to take the RCA cables from the receiver to the DVD recorder to a port that says IN. Then you will want to have either coax or RCA going from the DVD from a port that says OUT to the tv. If you use coax, the tv needs to be on channel 3/4, and the DVD on an input. If you use RCAs, the tv will also need to be on an input, such as video 1 or 2. Good luck! Blog back if any troubles!! :) Happy troubleshooting!!!!

I have a 1996 RCA 36" model # F35670mb and I am trying to get reception from a coax cable supplied by dish network, for a second room. I have connected the cable but I get no picture at all. Can you help?

You need to setup the dish receiver designating the channel for the second TV, typically a UHF channel like 21, then tune the TV to that channel.

I got dish net work installed yesterday and it worked fine but when i turned the tv on the next day it was nothing but static and i cant figure out how to fix it so whats wrong and how can i fix it?

Guest,

The static you are getting on your TV is because the TV is not on the correct channel or input setting. With the 311 receiver, there is either a coax or an RCA cable (yellow, white, red) going from the receiver to the TV. If you have a coax cable, the TV should be on channel 3 or 4 (usually channel 3). With the RCA cable, the TV should be on an input setting. You'll need to go through your input settings until you find the picture. Of course your DISH receiver needs to be powered on. I hope this helps.

How do i use the ant. passthrough on tv2 in dual mode w/ dish dvr625

ANT. passthrough for an ant. connected to your 625 receiver will only work on tv 1. The only way to do this is to RF modulate your tv 2 coax to an RCA and hook the RcA cable to your tv2. then use another ant. to connect coax allowing you to pick up dish programing on an input and then going to the channels to enjoy local over the air programming.
