My lasko tower fan works bot stopped ossilating

Well could be several things that could make it not oscillate. Motor is bad, stripped out teeth or gear slipping on motor. You would have to take it apart and see if you are even getting power to the motor.

I have a weather works fan model PDFJY16. I do not have the remote or the manual. How do I work all the buttons? Is there a manual on line? I can not find one

Try searching for WeatherWorks instead of weather works. Also, see whether you can find the manufacturer/distributor of the product.

We have a smell of ***** coming from our window a/c unit. we cleaned out the fan chamber of some mold last week. but i could not clean the fan cage. what could be causing this smell?

There is a weep hole underneith the casing of the unit that has a rubber plug inside it. You press the rubber plug with your finger and hold it in and the water will drain around your finger. If you are outside facing the unit the weep hole is usually on the right side and about four to five inches from the front.

The smell you are talking about is probably coming from the standing water that has come out of the air conditioner and is sitting inside the casing. After you drain as much water out of that casing as possible, go to your local hardware store and purchase a can of air conditioner cleaner. They sell aerosole cans of foaming cleaner that disolves with the condensation of the unit. It deodorized and cleans the dirt and grease on the coils too. Buy a fin comb or appliance comb and use it to remove the hair, lint and debris that collects behind the filter in the vents. That is what the fin comb or appliance comb is for. That should solve your problem.

The fan ossilates but doesn't blow any air

my guess just from what you have told me would be the motor on the fan has given up. there aretwo mototrs in it , one to run the fan and the other one makes it ossilate. As a temporary fix if you are able to get the fan apart and access the motor you can give the shaft a manual turn with your fingers and see if it will get it going. also as funny as it may sound sometimes if you just tap on the motor lightly but firmly with a small wrench it will also get it going again. What has most likely hjappened is the little brushes in the motor wear out and dont make a perfect electrical contact once they are worn so a little coaxing sometime gets it going again but no gauranties.
Let me know if this works and you can also let me know the age of it as well. Thanks for your patience and good luck.
