SOURCE: how to fix a code f25 for kenmore elite he5

F25 indicates a possible drive motor tachometer error. (NOTE: The tech sheet is located behind the front quarter panel- remove the three hex head screws at the very bottom to remove the panel. The tech sheets will be folded up in a little plastic pouch.

The f25 error code is a motor tachometer error. To determine the problem you will have to remove the top cover and the front access panel. On some models, the rear panel will have to be taken off for easier access to the motor control. Now with the washer-unplugged remove the each plug one at a time and make sure the pins in the connector are not bent then reseat them on the board. Now retest the washer. If the washer still fails, you will need a meter to ohm the motor.

With the washer unplugged, locate the motor harness. Now unplug the motor connector to ohm the motor. Follow the list below to check the motor.

* Pin 1 to 3 6 ohms
* Pin 1 to2 6 ohms
* Pin 2 to 3 6 ohms
* Pin 4 to5 115 ohms

If the readings are close to what is listed above the motor is fine.

Live voltage checks are dangerous, and possibly deadly. Exercise caution at all times. If you are not comfortable working with live electricity I suggest you call an experienced service technician. I have provided you with a wire diagram with what the voltages should be. If the voltages are correct I would then recommend that you replace the motor control.

Where is heating element located in a ken more elite dryer he5

After you unplug the dryer, take the back off. There should be a long black tube that contains the heating element. Either remove the element or the tube then remove the element. These cost somewhere around $35-40. Just be careful and replace the wires as they were taken apart.

The black wire (as opposed to the red, green, and white wires) on my Kenmore Elite He5 dryer plug shorted out at the connection to the dryer... what would cause this? And, is this something I should...

Hello. I recommend that you replace the entire plug and cord with a new one. The one that shorted is one of the two hot wires. It could be that the plug was faulty or had a weak spot in it. Joe

Kenmore elite elec dryer, 110.64972300. runs no heat

Pull one wire off the element and start the dryer in a heat cycle . Check power from that wire to the cabinet . Touch the meter to the terminal you pulled that wire off of , and check that voltage . You cannot get correct voltage by checking across the element . Trace the wire NOT getting 120 volts . It will either go to the timer or motor . It will lead you to the problem .

I have a Kenmore (Whirlpool) Elite HE5 Steam front load dryer. Everything seems to work fine except there is absolutely no heat. I checked the breaker, and it wasn't tripped. I checked the lint filter and...

I think I know what the problem is, this actually happened on a dryer I repaired at one point. Low line voltage to me means that one or more hot leads is not feeding enough voltage to the heating elements (and the heating elements need both hot leads to run) which means the circuit breaker, although on, may be malfunctioning or weakening. You can check this by running your dryer and taking the cover off your circuit panel and checking voltage on the breaker. You should see 110V on each terminal to ground (put leads from one terminal to the grounding bar in the panel). If you see less than 110V on each lead to ground and less that 240V across the terminals it needs to be replaced. (You can get one for under $25.00 depending on brand). NOTE: THE BREAKER USUALLY POPS RIGHT OUT OF THE PANEL, BUT WHEN WORKING IN PANEL TURN MAIN BREAKER OFF TO THE HOUSE AND HAVE SOMEONE HOLD A FLASHLIGHT FOR YOU. IF YOU TOUCH THE LIVE BUSS BAR THAT BREAKER GOES INTO YOU WILL GET SEVERELY HURT. TURNING OFF MAIN BREAKER WILL DISENGAGE THE POWER FROM THE BUSS BARS; NOTE THAT MAIN WIRES ARE STILL POWERED SO BE CAREFUL.

No heat, but dryer turns.

There are three common causes of a dryer not heating. First is a busted heating element. Second, the thermal cut-off has blown. Third, the high limit thermostat is not working.

Disconnect power to the machine and remove the screws at the bottom of the lower front access panel (toe panel) holding it in place. Pull the panel down and off the cabinet. You now have access to the heating circuit.

Remove the heater shield by removing its mounting screw and pulling it off the heater housing.

The heater terminal block is located at the left opening of the heater housing. Disconnect the wire from one of the heater terminals and measure the resistance of the heating element using an ohmmeter set to X1. The resistance should read 7.8 -11.8 ohms. Replace the heating element if the resistance reads open.

Disconnect the wires from the terminals of the heating element and remove the screw securing it to the heater housing. Slide the busted heating element out of the housing and install the new heating element. Secure it with the screw and put the terminal block in place. Connect the heater wires and reinstall the heater shield.

Slide the lower front access panel up into the cabinet and secure it with the screws.

Kenmore dryer error

Based on my brief internet research on this issue, after recieving the same error code, it appears to result from a communication issue between the electronic systems of the machine. Personally, I'm returning mine. Too many posts about this error.
