SOURCE: The dough hook is stuck in the beater shaft of kitchenaid mixer

It sounds like it got overloaded when you last mixed dough. It will only come off the way it went on. If it has been bent on, it may need a bit of gentle encouragement.

Blade is stuck in shaft of kitchen aid

Get some CRC around the shaft and into the beater hole and wriggle it about until it comes free. Rasp the build up in the beater hole out with a round file and clean up the shaft on the mixer. Remember you are cleaning out the hole not trying to make it bigger than it was. In my experience it is a build up of flour in there bonding itself to the hole in the aluminium beater.

Stuck beater

The shaft of the beater is bent. After frustrating discussions with Cuisinart customer service, I was able to free my shaft. First, you will notice that the beater screws onto the shaft. Unscrew it. Then, take the nut off the shaft. Next, put a wrench on the shaft that is only slightly larger than the shaft, followed by a washer. Next, screw the nut back onto the shaft. Finally, holding the wrench at the end, hit the wrench close to the shaft with a hammer. If the shaft doesn't come out, hit harder. Since the shaft is bent, you'll need to purchase a new beater.

One of my blades is stuck and I can't engage the release

Make sure your Beater can slip in and out of the Beater Shaft
easily. Do not force the beater onto the Shaft if the shaft is bent.
If it cannot be removed easily by hand, use a soft rubber mallet
(not a steel hammer) to slightly tap the beater so it can be moved
up and down the shaft or from side to side. Then you can easily
turn the beater left and remove it from the shaft.

From Kitchenaid Manual:
To Attach Flat Beater, Wire Whip, or Dough Hook
1. Turn speed control to OFF.
2. Unplug stand mixer or disconnect power.
3. Tilt motor head back.
4. Slip beater onto beater shaft and press upward
as far as possible.
5. Turn beater to right, hooking beater over pin on shaft.
6. Plug into a grounded 3 prong outlet.

Mixing attachment for stand mixer is stuck

I had this happen today. I took a towel and covered all of the beater except where it attaches. I sprayed WD-40 on it. This loosened it and it came unstuck. Then I washed it thoroughly with hot water and soap. It had some dried batter stuck inside which caused it to stick. Guess I better pay better attention to how clean I get it inside. PS Don't spray WD-40 anywhere else - this is something you make food with!

Can't remove beater from mixer...

I took the advice from: http://forum.kitchenaid.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6356
I put a wash cloth in a pot of boiling water and used tongs to wrap it around the beater shaft while the mixer was resting on its side. When the wash cloth was not too hot to touch, I put it back in the boiling water and did it again. I was then able to easily remove the beater.
