I have a Maytag Neptune gas dryer that is approx 8 yrs old and has worked great as far as drying time. The gas will now light and stay on for 15 seconds and then shut off, in 2 or 3 minutes it will light...

to me it sounds like your venting going out side,if it doesn;t get a clear flow it will come on and off the thermastate inside sencing to much heat.try unpluging the vent then try it if it stays on then you know your answer

Maytag neptune gas dryer front loader 9 years old has begun to squeak what is the most likely cause?

Either one of the rollers or the idler pulley is causing the squeak. Most common to go bad in a maytag dryer is the roller on the right, it sits just above the heating element. You need to take the drum out and spin each of the rollers and the idler pulley to determine which one is the problem, and replace it. good luck. Shane

The dryer started out with a small squeak about a year ago and has gradually worse.Squeak stops after several minutes.

there is a seal between the drum and the door. Over time it wears out and needs replacement. You can attempt to lube the seal however this only works as a short term fix.
