Either the needle is severely bent or the machine is out of time.

Needle hitting bobbin case

Try a brand new needle. Make sure it is the right needle for the machine and that it is installed correctly.

If the needle continues to hit the bobbin case, then there is a needle/hook timing issue. Take it for service.

The bobbin case catches the needle and the thread wraps around the bobbin case

If you are saying the needle is hitting the bobbin case when it goes down then it could be one of two things:

1. Bobbin case not all the way in. This can be caused by debris in the rotary hook or the bobbin case has been hit by the needle and has cracked/and or bent it. Make sure it is snapping into place correctly.
2. The rotary hook is out of time. Reset the rotary hook point behind the needle and about the middle of the scarf of the needle. Make sure you run the needle all the way down and as it starts back up this is where you set the hook.

Needle hits bobbin case

The bobbin case has to be positioned properly in the race. When the stitch plate is removed the bobbin case can be inserted in the wrong orientation to the stop finger. So if I can the presser foot location 12 o'clock, the tension screw for the bobbin case should be at 6:15 and the stop, which I think looks like a little nose, should be at 5:45. This little nose like projection should nuzzle up against the stop. If the needle hits the bobbin case when the bobbin case is inserted correctly, go see a dealer, your machine is broken.

Needle hits bobbin case

If the needle hits the bobbin case the are only 2 things that could be wrong. Lets hope its the easy one, there are more than one length of needles, if the needle is to long or it is not all the way up in the neelde bar, the needle will hit the inside of the bobbin case. Now if that is not the problem then the machine is out of time. ALWAYS check the easy stuff FIRST.

My needle jams when it hits the tray the bobbin case is in. It looks as if the timings off because just to the right of where my needle hits is a dip in the tray. Almost as if the needle's too long. I've...

If this is a drop-in/horizontal bobbin, raise the needle to it's highest position. Remove the bobbin case then replace it so it fits snugly into the shuttle. Hand walk to see if the case moves freely in a circle. If it stops, it is not positioned correctly. You do not have to have a needle in to test this.

Once you are sure the bobbin case is correctly in place, re-install the needle. Hand Walk to make sure the case turns without any interference.

If the needle continues to hit, then the machine needs to go into the shop for service.

There is a DIY for adjusting the timing of the hook sewusa.com if you wish to try the adjustment on your own.

With the needle hitting the bobbin case , it sounds like it might be out of time. Which I am sorry to say is not an easy at-home fix.
