Almost all old T/W W/P have a slide switch, a mode key or just a key you press to change the mode. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Olivetti Lettera 22 Typewriter carriage does not move

There are two ways to deal with that (before taking you olivetti to an authorized dealer):
  1. There's a lock key under the carriage. Have you unlocked it?
  2. The carriage might have been locked by a piece of paper or something else. Release it (pull it) and clean its passage (there is a button you press in order to release it - proceed with care).

The printer Olivetti ET2500 could not type, any buttons press will have a 'sound' except KB II button .please advise how to solve this problem.

sound like you've got it in delayed print or memory mode, look in the display for the mode it is in. got a book? - look it up. if not STATO OPER is the section of the display (2nd from right) and also the button that changes it (2nd from right, on top right) I couldn't find an English example on the web to look at, just the Italian one.

How do you unlock a locked carriage?

The solution is not right--there is a carriage return release lever on the far right of the typewriter, that engages a notch on the underside of the roller/carriage return--push it forward to release the lever and you are in business--it has a spoon shaped end and its on the right side
