How do I make sure my galaxy mega is set to the correct settings


I just switched my att galaxy mega 6.3 to straight talk using the recommended apn straight talk gave me every thing is great except for mms picture messaging which I don't really use it sending almost all pictures through Facebook I was wondering about doing a factory data reset to get all the unwanted att apps off quickly if I do will that mess up my new apn settings?

Here are the APN settings for your phone and T-Mobile.
These need to be correct for mms to work.

APN & data settings

To set the Access Point Name (APN) and turn on data settings, follow these steps:
  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Touch Settings.
  3. Touch Wireless & networks.
  4. Open the Access Point Names or APNs. menu (in steps above)
  5. If there is a T-Mobile APN, touch it. If not, press the Menu key, and touch New APN.
  6. Verify and update the following settings for the Data APN:
    • Name: T-Mobile
    • APN: epc.tmobile.com or fast.t-mobile.com (for LTE devices)
    • Proxy: <Not set>
    • Port: <Not set>
    • Username: <Not set>
    • Password: <Not set>
    • Server: <Not set>
    • MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
    • MMS proxy: <Not set>
    • MMS port: <Not set>
    • MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
    • MCC: 310
    • MNC: 260
    • Authentication type: <Not set>
    • APN type: <Not Set> OR Internet+MMS (depending on software version)
  7. Press the Menu key.
  8. Touch Save.
  9. In the list of APNs, delete all others that may appear. If there is a FOTA APN, you may leave that one. To do this:
    1. Touch the APN you want to delete.
    2. Press the Menu key.
    3. Touch Delete APN.
  10. Verify that there is a circle next to the one remaining APN to show it is activated.
  11. Perform a soft reset.
  12. Test your data connection, by accessing a web page or sending a picture message (MMS) to yourself.

Data must be enabled on the phone for MMS to function. Also, it's possible that you need to manually configure the APN settings. Your service provider should be able to tell you the correct APN.

For the normal at&t apn settings, or also called at&t wap settings, these are the values you should use

at&t apn settings 4Gdetails: If you have a 4G phone (e.g. iPhone 5, Galaxy S4, HTC one, etc) you should try using these at&t apn settings 4G. They run faster and more stable connections.
