Question about Black & Decker Garden

Open Question

I have just bought, (new) a B & D Reflex auto feed strimmer. It does not auto feed. The strimmer wire lasts about 5 seconds and then disappears into the spool cavity. I have taken the spool off to rethread wire at least eight times in as many yards, Impossible machine. Any advice please?

SOURCE: Strimmer Line

rotate the starter pulley by hand. You should feel the spring getting tight. Once the pulley is slightly tensioned, usually 5-10 turns, release the pulley and let is pull the string onto the pulley. You may have to add some tension to get all the rope to wind on the pulley.

SOURCE: Rethreading a garden strimmer

Hi Deborah,
You need to start from the beginning of the trimmer string. Remove the entire spool. Insert the start of the line through and wedge it into the little groove to keep it from coming loose. Now wind the line tightly and neatly in the direction shown on the spool. (it should provide an arrow stating to "wind this way". As you near the end of the line, keep it snug and push the end through the hole where it leads out to the cutting zone. As you re-insert the spool into the housing, make sure it stays tightly wound as you lock it into place. This should help. Usually when your string is too short, you tap the **** of the spool on the ground to advance the line. It should feed a bit at a time, and when you hear it getting cut off, you should stop advancing the line.
Hope this helps.

I bought this strimmer in May 2015. Works well but the auto line feed doesn't seem to function.

most auto line feeds work off the button in the middle of the trimmer head
you tap the head on the ground while it is spinning and it releases just enough line to continue working
if it is not now doing that then it is more than probable that you have to install new line

Spear & Jackson 33cc Petrol Grass Strimmer SGT33N, black fuel pipe split. How to replace it?

empty the petrol, feed the black line (the fuel intake) into the tank and grab the end of it thats attached to the filter inside the tank. now you can feed a new fuel line through into the tank and reattach to the filter. hopefully this will solve your problem ive just done this but mine still wont start, either flooded or spark plug. by the way i bought mine new and the fuel line was split.

Why is a replacement spool and line not available for Qualcast GGT4502? Its only 7 months old (from Homebase) !!!

I think it's because Homebase no longer sell them. It's really annoying - I bought the last replacement spool that they had a couple of weeks ago for the strimmer I bought last summer.
After this is used, I'll have to buy a new strimmer. Bad judgement there, Homebase.

Press and hold the UP button on the projector for 5 seconds, this will display the Total Used Lamp Time. Press AUTO on the projector to reset the timer to 0. Wait for roughly 5 seconds for the On Screen Display to disappear.

Threading line on black & decker GL301 strimmer

Do you mean that the string keeps feeding as you try to operate the trimmer?

If so, you are winding the string on the spool the wrong way. Put the string on the spool in a clockwise direction. This should do it.
