Fibres appear on canvas after painting

it is pretty obvious that you did not prepared canvas correctly, before you use your medium you need to prepare it. use gesso to even the surface of the canvas seem like you are using water based paint on natural fibers.

fibres in the canvas are picking out the water, swell and raise from the surface,

easiest way to fix this problem is to stretch well your canvas, then use flat knife or broad spatula and evenly work gesso into the working surface, wait day or two and repeat the exercise, sometime even more than twice, if you are doing showpiece which will be covered with high gloss finish, apply at least three to four layers of gesso sanding with 600grit block between layers, your artpiece will then really shine.

if you work on paper, use good quality aquarell (watercolour) or similar paper, stretch it well, pre-wash and they use your airbrush tints or paints. gesso or fixative can be used as well on paper.

if you paint on wood, you definitely need two layers of gesso, if this is very light wood - probably even more, oak and dense woods, especially well seasoned (i tend to buy wood from demolition sites and then make my own as i need) are best for the purpose, do not use planks thinner than 10mm (3/8"), my preferred is actually 20mm (3/4").

if you have any other question - feel free to ask, do not forget to rate... :-)

The fabric on my pushchair has torn/frayed, what is the best fabric to use to repair it?

Canvas. Google to find your local canvas supplier. Canvas comes in many grades and colours and is not just used for tents.

I have an Epson R1800 and when I load Roll 13X19 matte media and try to print I either get a "jammed media" message or the printer trys to print without feeding the media.

I had a similar problem trying to print epson pro canvas. I finally learned the "trick". First I generally cut an appropriately sized pice of canvas from the roll. Then I attach a HEADER. This is dome by cutting a piece of 13" wide photo paper in a three inch length (so you have a piece 13" x 3") . Draw a line at 1.5 inches and place some sort of adhesive (I use a double sided tape gun) on one side of the line. Line up the canvas/paper with the line and make sure it sticks to the header.

Now you should be able to manually feed the header/paper into the printer - once the header passes the correcct point the printer will "grab" it a position it correctly for printing.

Hope this helps

Stops printing half way through a canvas

The service manual says
"0001001B Head driver (TG) temperature error"
Head failure or head cable splicing defective/breaking of wire
Solution
 Head cable joint
 Head Assy exchange

You might try pausing the printer for 10 minutes, before it gets to the halfway point to let it cool down, then un-pause it.

You don't say how large the canvas is. If it is 44" by 60" or something large, above might be OK, if it is only 24" x16", it might be more trouble than it is worth, unless you are only printing a few.
