If the pull chain doesn't make a clicking sound when you pull it, you need a new switch.

How to fix pull chain for lights on a ceiling fan?

You will probably have to replace the switch that is controlled by the chain. You will need one withe the same number of wires coming out of it. Find out the type of fan and google it. If it is a cheap fan I would replace the entire unit, it if is also old.

Bad hunter ceiling fan light pull switch

I don't know what you mean, longer stem/chain housing to hold light fixture. You should be replacing a two wire switch only.

Craftmade Ceiling Fan Problems

Make sure your fan is on high with the pull chain switch. Push the remote Hi button then pull the chain until it's on the high speed, Then DO NOT use the pull chain. Same with light , Push light button on remote then pull chain until it's on then leave the chain alone. If that doesn't do the trick then you probably need a new receiver.

The pull chain no longer engages the light mechanism so i can no longer turn the lights on or off is there a replacement kit or might it be fixed by opening the lighting unit?

The pull chain switch is available at Lowe's and/or Home Depot.Remove and take the faulty one with you for comparison purposes. You will need to open the lighting unit to disconnect and remove the old switch. Try to repair takes more time than it's worth. As a new switch only cost around $6.00.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Hampton Bay cieling fan. Fan will not operate without light being on. Is there a wiring problem or a fix for this

Isn't there a pull chain to shut off the light? If you only had a light there before and it was controlled by a single switch, that switch will now turn on the fan and light and you have to pull the chain to shut the light off and pull a different chain to turn the fan on and select speed.

Ceiling fan pull chain connected but does not click on

There is a pull chain switch inside the fan termination housing. you will have to take the little cover off and remove the switch. it has 2 small screws with wire landed under them. Turn off the power at the breaker before working on the switch. take this little ****** out and put in a new one. you can get them at the Home Depot or equivelant. it don't matter if the new switch is a little bigger but it still has to fit. use some judgement here. wire it in the place of the old one, turn the power back on at the breaker and it should be ready to go. Presto.
