The bobbin casing stopped working. On closer inspection we discovered the time piece hal become unscrewed, but how to you get it back in time?

This is how I do it. Rotate the machine by hand until the needle is at the lowest point that it travels. Now tighten the bobbin casing set screws with the thread hook slightly ahead of the needle. As the needle begins to rise the hook should pass by it and grab the needle thread and loop it around the bobbin. Be patient. You may have to adjust it several time before you get the timing back to perfect.

    Good Luck!!

    How do I set clock?

In your left hand hold the beverage of your choice, with your right hand, push in and hold the time (disp) button (which is black in color) until the time display starts flashing. While the time is flashing, start pushing the #5 lighted button ( it has a small 'H' on it for 'hour') until the hour time is set. Then start pushing the #6 lighted button ( it has a small 'M' on it for 'minute' ) until you set the correct minute time. If you wait too long after the time starts flashing and you have not started pushing the 'H' or 'M' buttons, the time will stop flashing and you will need to get it flashing again to procede. You may now consume the beverage while leaning back, feeling superior once again for having leaped ahead of the ever burgeoning technology, nodding your head up and down and saying out loud, " Yep, this stud (or babe) is still a genius !"

    Espresso extraction time

You will need to reprogram the computer. To do this, it is relatively simple. take your grounds and tamp into your portafilter (I usually start with a double). make sure that you tamp it correctly.

Then, hold down the start/stop button until you see the lights flashing on the panel (if you want to program both groupheads at the same time, then hit the start/stop button on the other side as well.) Then with your portafilter inserted in the grouphead, hit the button that you would like to represent your double shot. you should see a water stream about the width of a cooked piece of spaghetti. After around 18 seconds to 22 seconds, you should have your shot levels filled. then hit the button that represents your 'double' shot to stop it. then hit the start/stop button. You will see the start stop button flash a couple times and then turn off.

That should do it. remember, that the preferred timeframe for a shot of espresso is 18-22 seconds. Your setting on the coffee grinder would then need to be set to make sure your getting a full shot in that amount of time.

    Good luck
