SOURCE: craftsman edger won't start

Does it have a primer bulb? If so, make sure the bulb is not cracked. Also, make sure the fuel lines are not cracked and the fuel supply line reaches the bottom of the tank. Fuel lines, as silly as it sounds, degrade when exposed to gas for long periods of time. If they are cracked it will draw more air than fuel and not allow the engine to run. You can buy replacement fuel line/primer bulb kits for under $10 at practically any hardware store.

SOURCE: BLOWER SPEED DOES NOT INCREASE WHEN SQUEEZING

When blower speed does not increase even after complete cleaning ans service has been carried out usually two factors can be attributed to it. The first being the trigger control being out of place therefore not transferring the increase request to the fan or the fan motor being weak as a result of wear and tear. Usually due to old age the fan motor would reduce its speed if this happens to be the case then a replacement fan will be the best solution.
Although there is the off chance of the power which is supplied to the fan to be insufficient therefore low blowing power will be supplied. Check on these and get back to me.
Hoping to hear from you soon

What is the piece protruding out the bottom of the carburetor bowl on a Cub Cadet LTX 1040 lawn tractor

Fuel shut-off solenoid (anti backfire device). Check it for proper operation by removing from bowl, plugging it in, ground it against the crankcase, and turn the key on with the brake pedal depressed. You should see the plunger suck in. Turn the key off and the plunger will poke back out. Be sure you have good fuel flow to the carb through the fuel line, clean/ rebuild the carb, and test the solenoid.

17 hp briggs stratton ohc

Clean or change air filter. Clean, gap or change spark plug. Empty gas tank add fresh gas with Stabil. When spark plug is removed pull rope several times to blow out cylinder. Spray starter fluid in spark plug hole before replacing spark plug. Clean outside of carb so choke works freely. Spray starter fluid into carb breather hole with air filter removed and try to start. if running replace air filter and cover. If no start disassemble carb and clean. If no start replace carb.

Doesn't start has spark @ plug fuel @

try starting meaning pull the rope 6 times and then check the spark plug if its wet clean it or try a new plug, if its dry your not getting fuel in the cylinder which means carb problems. if you have a seringe or something to put some gas into the spark plug hole then install spark plug and try it. if it runs for a couple of seconds then you need to focus on the carb. only put a small amount of fuel in the plug hole if you try it otherwise youll be pulling on the rope for awhile before it will start. hope this helps.

Have gts toro, engine starts then stops can not get it started.. r s

Your mower engine has to have these things WORKING to run: 1. Compression (engine in good shape) 2. Strong Spark (magneto air gap has to be correct for strong spark) 3. Clean air ( good, clean air filter w/no air leaks) 4. Clean, fresh fuel supply (gas less than 30 days olds with an inline filter installed in mower's fuel line). These things are assuming the mower hasn't struck an immovable object such as concrete, tree stump etc. recently. This will shear the flywheel key and timing may be off so far that engine won't start. So, where would you like to start my friend? Try checking these things. In the meanwhile....we can try to "coax" the engine into running. Remove the spark plug. Get an aerosol can of carb/choke cleaner spray. Spray a couple of shots into the engine. Reinstall plug. Choke the carb and attempt to start. This may or may not work, according to the conditions listed earlier. If this doesn't get it running, remove the plug and try it again.
We are trying to get it to run on its own, so it will start (or attempt to start) drawing fuel from the carburetor. Sometimes the brass bolt that holds the carburetor float bowl on gets clogged. You drain the gas, remove the bolt and clean all the small hole in the bottom and along the sides of it. This bolt is also the main jet of the carb. Cleaning this with carb cleaner can only help. If you do this, use NO metal objects to poke or scrape the bolt. The holes are metered and have to stay that way. Check for spark, check your air filter, see if the plug gets wet after you attempt to start. If it doesn't get wet or even smell like gas, then likely you have a fuel flow problem. Try ALL these things and post back; and again, if you have hit something solid recently with the mower, you will have the replace the flywheel shear key. It is a small aluminum $1.00 part so don't worry. Post back as needed. We wish to help.

My 18 hp OHV kawasaki in my mower loses power when it warms up, any suggestions, already tried plugs and has 110 psi compression

If its struggling to run when it gets hot it could either be bad (old) gas that is boiling before it gets to the cylinders, or the carburetor needs to be cleaned/adjusted.

If you really want to figure out which one it is you can start by just flushing the gas and filling it with newly purchased gas, but if it were me I would both change the gas and remove and clean the carburetor.

The carb is located between the air filter and the engine body (clean/change the air filter while you are at it). It should come off with a few screws/bolts. Take it apart on a clean bench and spray all the parts thoroughly with carburetor cleaner from your local auto parts store.

This should take care of your problems, if it doesn't just reply to my solution and I'll help you figure it out.
