SOURCE: bobbin tangles up thread and jams machine

Hi, Is it your bobbin thread or the top thread wrapping around the bobbin. I just got a used PE150. The top thread keeps wrapping around the bobbin. It is not picking up the bobbin thread. Did you find a solution for your problem?

SOURCE: Adjusting Bobbin Tension

I looked forever to find this darn green bobbin screw. Around the opening for your bobbin is a plastic cover. If you slide it forward it will pop right off. Once you remove this, the bobbin case will lift right out. On the front you will see your green screw for adjusting your bobbin tension.

How to thread my baby lock b15 machine

Something here may be helpful. Although they may not be your particular model, sewing machines tend to thread the same from model to model.

Be sure to ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot when threading the top thread!

Baby lock quest plus and the bobbin thread is all loopy. I have done everything. I believe it is in tension discs. When I move it to 8 or 9 it sews ok. When I sew faster it seems to start looping.

Is it really the bobbin thread that is loopy--not the top thread looping under the fabric? If this is the case, it is called bird nesting. (problems appearing under the fabric are usually a top thread issue, problems on top of the fabric usually indicate a bobbin issue)

Remove the top thread from the machine.
ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning. You may need to loosen the top tension to get it where it should be. The two threads should meet in the middle of the fabric.

If the bobbin thread is still too loose, then an adjustment may be needed to its tension.

I have a Baby Lock Audrey. The bobbin thread is "nesting". I have tried rewinding the bobbin and rethreading the needle and bobbin thread but that hasn't helped.

Check that it is actually the bobbin thread that is nesting. Generally, bobbin thread issues appear on the top of the fabric and upper thread issues appear on the underside of the fabric.

If it is in fact the bobbin thread, the bobbin thread tension may be off or malfunctioning.

If it is the upper thread nesting under the fabric:
1. Remove the thread
2. Install a brand new needle
3. ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot. This releases the thread tension so the thread will seat properly.
4. Rethread from the beginning and check the thread path is correct.
5. Set the upper tension at the midway point.
6. Check that the bobbin thread is loaded properly
7. Retest the machine.

If it continues to create thread nests under the fabric, tighten the upper tension.

Ooo ouch! sounds like you have a pretty bad timing problem and or a damaged bobbin case. Since it is a baby lock I would suggest taking it in for repair.

Not picking up the Bobbin thread

Sounds like you have to take off the throat plate and clean out threads under it.  Sometime they ball up and prevent the needle from going down and catching the bobbin thread. You can't see themuntil you take off the plate.  Follow the directions.  It is easy.
