SOURCE: How to take off a yamaha vmax 1200cc 1991 starter

The easiest way is to first drain all of the antifreeze. Use a clean container, because you can re-use it later if it is not too old. Then remove the radiator, and then remove the thermostat cover. (you will need to un-do all of the hoses to do this.) The the starter will be reasonably easy to get to. It took me about 45 minutes to do this on mine. As a side note. If it is starting slowly when hot, I found that if you dis-assemble the starter and take some sand paper (about 300 grit) to the brushes and the part of the stator that they rub on, it will solve the problem without buying a new starter. I hope this helps.

My 2 yr old hot tub primary pump sounds like a kitchen garbage disposal. Bad Bearing?.....Rocks....Kids Toys????

if ur not getting to little pressure and a lot of noise might have to bleed the air out of pump if it was bleed than turn off power and take off access cover reach in and turn the coupler that connects motor and pump shaft by hand if the coupler is damaged or binding repair or replace if good continue to turn shaft and feel if the pump is binding or feels loose in housing if it does repair or replace same with feeling if the motor is binding or if there is play in shaft if it looks good remove hands and turn power on and turn on pump and observe if its vibrating ,bouncing or not running smooth will have to pull out and check problems

I am getting a lot of vibration from my pump

there is a bad bearing inside that has worn out and causes vibration and excess heat, when it frees up it will spin quiet for a little then bind and vibrate again. need to replace bearing.

Often times, the coupling is not fitted completely, and the excess pressure is binding the motor or gearbox up

Not a guaranteed solution, but something to check

reopen the case and motor, and use a dowel and hammer to ensure the spiders are fully pressed onto the gearbox and motor shafts

diss asemble the dryer and check for binding at the motor could have lint in the windings, if not binding the bad motor, also as you dissasemble look for stuck or frozen tub roller or bearing
