It sounds like possibly the harddrive is failing. Id advise taking it to a local computer repair shop that offers free diagnostics to verify this. If it is failing they might be able get data back off of it.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

How do I view pictures on my laptop?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

you can use the internal picture browser in the paint shop pro program to view your pictures. you will need to point the browser to the drive you want to view the pictures on it. I use PSP 7 for years to edit my pictures as well. there is limited to no digital camera support for this program. so with your camera connected to your computer it may show up as a mass storage device or maybe even like a usb flash drive. just use the same steps that you would use to view or save your pictures to and from usb drives. if your computer cannot see your camera then try using a memory card reader.

I do not know how to rotate my profile picture upright

It needs to be done prior to uploading to facebook. If you have a copy of it on your computer just open it in say Microsoft Picture Manager or paint or whatever program your using to view pictures and rotate there and save using the same file name. Then go to facebook and upload the new picture to facebook.. Not too difficult. Get back to us if you have any more questions..

I have found a manual that may be better than you have now, it seems real easy to understand and has pictures too, basically you use the Volume + & - keys to step through the Menu, and there is an "Auto Search" function too..5.5.1.1 page 11, start there and follow pictures.. START: Press MENU Key to enter the menu list, press Left and Right Key to enter the following list, press Up and Down Key to enter the sub-list and then press Left and Right Key to setup the contents. 5.5.1.2. In the CATV state, choose Auto scan and press OK to enter Cable system settings. Four options, AUTO, STD, IRC, HRC can be chosen. 5.5.2. In the Start to scan item, press VOL+ to start searching. Auto searching will clear the primary program. 5.5.3. Press Auto Scan Add Ch will start auto search based on primary program.

You don't need to do all the extra bits like names etc, if you don't want... just use default settings.. Get the manual below... http://www.curtisint.com/html/CustService/Manuals/CUR_KCR2614A_EN.PDF

I can't view advanced options. The date stamp on/off button has vanished. My Polaroid i634 has been restored to original settings, and now iconc/buttons are no longer there. How do I turn the date stamp...

I turned it on, and pressed the video/live recording button that was next to the trash/delete button. That is a whole other menu. After pressing the video/live recording button, I just went up to the first selection, "Program." That takes it off the basic/Q-Mode, which opens additonal options, like ISO and Date Stamp on/off. So basically:
1) Turn on, having the camera on picture taking mode, not review picture mode.
2) Press Video/Live Recording button.
3) Go to first option, called "Program"
4) In this mode, many other options are available, and there will be smaller icons.

Can you browse to the pictures by either clicking on My Computer, click on removable media (locate your external HD) or are you looking for a program to view the images? Here is a great program to view pictures with.

Did you move the pics to another location on hard drive? The Easy Share program is just tool to view the pics that are stored on the hard drive. It uses "Albums" to view these pics. The Album is still there but it sounds like the pictures got moved.

Make sure you have completely uninstalled AOL, as this can still cause certain problems. When you connect your cam you should be able to view pics within Windows my pictues and should ask to import files. It should also show up in my computer as a drive if it's recognised by windows, if so you can explore it and open the folder with pics in
