SOURCE: acquiring signal only on display
I have had my Sportster 1 for over 3.5 years with never a problem About Mid May 2008, I saw the "aquiring signal" notice in the middle of my screen. Everything wlese was fine. I saw the channel #, the time, the 3 signal bars, the name of the channel, etc. Everything EXCEPT actually hearing it.
I called sirius and they say they didnt know what could be causing this. I am really surprised to see this many people having the same problem.
Anyway, I boughrt another Sportster 1 on E-bay for $49.99 and am waitingfor it to arrive. Hope it works.

No, you are not obligated to pay for services not rendered or in this case no longer needed.
You will need to contact FixYa administration for the details about canceling the charges. They can be reached at:
There may be continued responses to your posted problem until Monday morning when the offices are once again populated. Bear with them, the experts answering do not initially see what has transpired previous to their posts. When they do see, it's only the comments made by you that are visible.
Normally the responses stop when you accept an answer. In this case, that may complicate things. So, be patient and send them a message explaining the situation.
There will be no problem,

I had the same problem - Onkyo had me reset the unit by holding down VCR and pushing the power button. Make sure you record your settings before doing this - as the unit will be fully reset. This solved the video problem for me.

I believe you have probably selected the wrong TV mode. It seems that you have set the TV to analog mode. It is common for the digital tuning option to be greyed out in analog mode and only becomes available in digital mode. Look for a button on your Sharp remote labelled "DTV" or "DIGITAL" and press this, then open the menu and try the digital setup again. If you don't have one of these buttons, look for a button labelled "INPUT" or "SOURCE" and look for an input or mode called digital or DTV.
I will check on the exact method for your TV and post back with the details shortly.
