SOURCE: Troy-Bilt Trimmer won't start

try taking the carb off and you should find 2 adjustment screws on it. turn those in until they stop, do not force tight. while doing this be sure to keep and eye on how far you turn them in. they likely wiil be set at 1 1/2 turns. now that you have done this unsrew them all the way out and get some carb cleaner to spray in there and rinse any old or dried up gas out. then replace the screws at the same setting they were before you took them out. this should take care of it.

Husqvarna 372xp won't start... Mysterious

I recently bought a brand new 372XP and spent the first day trying to start it as per the instruction manual with no success, never even fired once. Removed the plug to find plenty of fuel and that the plug has a good spark. Left it until the next day mainly to allow my arm to recover (& scour the internet for clues). I found a forum that said not to use the decompressor and sure enough without the use of the decompressor button it fired first go with the choke on then I reset the choke & it ran properly on the second pull. The decompressor button can be reset with fine nosed pliers or removal of the top cover by undoing three screws. Good luck it's a great saw once you know how to start it.

I have a new[purchased last summer] Yard Man Mdl.: YM320BV 2-stroke, 31cc, blower/vac that will not start. Fuel is fresh, has new spark plug (what should the gap be?) original plug was...

If the plug is black then either there is too much two - stroke oil in the mix or the gas / air mix is too rich due to e.g. dirty air filter. Have a look at these tips for starting weedeaters, they apply also to blowers:

I have a gas operated 31cc Craftsman model number 316.798221 weedwacker trimmer 17 I mixed fuel with 2 cycle engine oil using a 4 to 1 ratio. The trimmer no longer starts. It seems as if it is about to...

If you have mixed your gas and oil to a 4 to one mix you have way too much oil in your gasoline. Drain out your fuel tank and carburetor. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Remove the spark plug and clean if necessary. Mix your fuel in a fuel container at 40 to one. Some sites even recommend a 50 to one mixture. (50 to one mixture is one pint of oil to 6 gallons of gasoline) Refill your fuel tank on the trimmer and try to crank, if it does not want to crank within 4-5 pulls then you may want to give it a very small shot of starting ether in the carburetor intake and try to crank again. Good Luck, I hope this helped, Please rate me, Thanks

Ran gasoline in 2 cycle engine and it will not start now Put 100% gas (no oil mix) in 2 cycle engine. Ran for 3 minutes and stopped, will not start now. Engine not seized but will not start.

Remove the Muffler and Look into the Exhaust Port.
If the Piston has Scratches or Gouges, then the Engine is Trashed and will have to be Replaced.
A New Unit is Usually Cheaper than Buying the Replacement Parts.
You can View a Breakdown of this Unit at the Following Site Addy.
Hope this Helps.

Good Luck
