My gravity feed iron won't turn on.

Your brand new iron probably is defective. Funny how no one wants to have anything to do with repair or replace. You may have to get another iron that that works.

The iron will not turn on. i tryed a different location to plug it in and nothing happens.

Possible that the power cord is faulty if there is no indication at the iron. use a multimeter to check the continuity from the plug to the iron heating coil element.
it is possible that the coil has opened or the thermostat is defective.

My Rowenta iron was working fine the last time I used it. I plugged it in to use it today and nothing. The little red light on top comes on but the light on the side to let me know it is ready and hot...

Yes there is a solution, I have a DG580 with the same problem. I had to replace the electric cord which cost $17.00 and took 30 min to replace and now works like brand new.

I have 1700W Rowenta Focus and it is fairly new and water won't stay in it. I pour water in and leaks out all around the sole of the iron. What is going on? It never has been dropped, fallen off anything...

Possibly one of two problems.

1. Water tank has a hole in it.
2. Filler tube that go's into tank has come off.

If you are handy and have the correct type screwdriver bits, you may be able to open the iron and have a look.

Other wise it's bite the bullet and buy a new one. Wallmart or similar do some quite good cheep electrical stuff.

When plugged in iron will not "turn on." If shaken it will sometimes turn on then shut off again. Appears to be an auto shut-off problem.

Could also be a break in the supply cable inside the cable guide

The cable moves during ironing and as the cable guide is fairly rigid , the inner cable gets stressed and snaps

Try waggling the cable instead of shaking the iron

I have a Rowenta 1700 iron. The iron has started to act up. When I plug the iron in it just flashes & does not get hot. It is like it is in the stand by mode when you leave it on & don't iron...

This is a problem with a lot of Rowenta irons. It is the auto shut off that is not working properly and the only way to fix it is to have it disassembled and the switch hardwired to be on whenever the iron it plugged in. It is a thermal metal switch and it just stops working and then the iron will not turn on and the yellow light blinks.

Brand new rowenta professional won't heat

Hi,
The mostly problem in that case is the internal terminal from cord to iron is loose ,open it and fix the the terminal cord to iron,or go to the nearest shop to repair that.

Thanks & good day,
