#pp5020av pull cord

The length of the Starter pull cord is 40"
It can be purchased at www.ereplacement parts.com

I have no affiliation with this site or company. They simply have great prices and also list exploded views of this saw and others.

Bar cover wont go back on

If the chain brake has activated the band will now be smaller than the drum stopping it goig back on, you need to load the brake by pulling the hand guard fully back, you may need to lock the cover in a vice ( be careful not to damage the cover ) to hold it whilst pulling the hand guard as it will take some force to load it.

I have a poulon pro 42cc saw that wont start. dont think its getting gas cuz i tried to flood it with the primer but no gas on the spark plug.

The primer will not flood it, all the primer does on these saws is pushes fuel through the carb. If this is a new saw, it needs a carb adjustment, a very common problem on poulan products these days. It's covered by the warranty at any of their service dealers (you can locate one on poulan's website).
How old is the gas you are using? If the mixture is more than 30 days old, make a new mix and try again.
Check for spark. Pull the boot off of the plug. Hold the boot near something metal and pull the starter. If you see a spark, you are good. If you don't, you may have a problem with the coil.
