Open the freezer door and look down the ice chute while you shine a flashlite up the dispenser cute from the outside. If you see light around the chute door, it needs to be replaced or something is wrong with the mechanism. The problem you describe is almost always air leakage around that flap.
Post back if you need more help.

SOURCE: frost on ice maker
look at the chute where the ice comes out the door and see if the door in there is sticking open and leaking air in some times it helps to hold a flashlight on the out side aimed up the chute while lookin down on the inside

SOURCE: ice maker arm
you can take out the screws that hold the ice maker to the freezer wall unplug the ice maker take off the front cover remove the four screws holding the motor module which is brown take that off and reattach the shutoff bail arm and reassemble. their is a gold forked metal piece in there the bail arm has to be in that fork .or you can replace the ice maker

On advice from the tech I removed acess door. It was covered by frozen moisture.
I removed the motor it was full of water. I verified 120 volts at plug to motor from control
by depressing the door switch and ice dispenser lever at same time. The motor ohms out
but because of amount of water removed from it I am going to replace it and see what happens.
