Check whether the camera is correctly identified by the computer operating system when you connect the USB cable. A workaround would be to use a SD-card reader easily available in the market.

Need cd-rom to down load photoes to computer

You can buy the Cd from Olympus on their website, but you should be able to import the files directly from your camera using the USB cable, using it just like an external drive. If you are using a memory card for storage, you can also use a card reader to import your files. The free Picasa software from Google will import images and also allow you to edit them.

How do I fix dell error code 0x8000FFFF: Catastrophic Error.

use photobucket, it's much easier and it syncs automatically.Or you can try to take the memory card out of your phone and stick it in the laptop to do the transfer. Use a micro sd card carrier that plugs into your laptop like a regular sd card. Or you can tell your phone to always connect as a usb mass storage device.

I used to be able to import pictures onto my laptop but now it does nothing when the usb is plugged into both

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Can't download photos after loading software

We dont use the software which came with our cameras, we use picasa 3. Just connect camera to PC photos appear and then just click import to picasa. Then save pictures under "MY Pictures" under PC drive. Another thing to try when using camera software is to ensure that you are not connected to broadband at the time of downloading.

I have a Nikon Coolpix P2 camera that I love. I used to have Picasa 2 software loaded and it automatically detected when I attached the camera to a USB port. I've accidently upgraded to Picasa 3, and that...

It's probably because Picasa 3 is not your default import program for photos. You can fix this by:

In Windows XP, your default import setting must be adjusted on a device by device basis:
* Connect the import device (your camera or card reader) to your computer.
* Double-click My Computer on your computer desktop.
* Right-click the listing of your import device.
* Select Properties.
* Click the Autoplay tab.
* Select 'Pictures' from the content drop-down menu.
* Choose from two possible actions:
* Select an action to perform: Select an application to handle import by default each time photos are detected on the specific piece of hardware.
* Prompt me each time to choose an action: Choose an import application each time you attach your hardware.
* Click Apply.
* Click OK.

Windows Vista

Windows Vista allows you to set a global import preference for all photo or videos files.
* Click Start > Control Panel.
* Select Autoplay.
* Under 'Picture' or 'Video,' select your default import program.
* Click Save.
