Think im having a brain freeze. My pattern says - Dec 1 st at each end of 12th and 2 foll 10th rows. Work 15 rows. How can I do-2 foll 10th rows when I am only knitting 15 rows

Pattern "Simone" in Neck Effects book - should Rows 2,4,6 be purl instead of knit? It says it is stockinet the but if you knit it will be garter stitch


Then knit purl to keep stockinet st. unless it changes in the pattern. what does the picture look like?

I don't understand when the pattern says 1st and 2nd rows set pattern Keeping continuity of pattern as set work 32 rows more. it does not look at all like the picture of the blanket I am knitting.


Depends on what the pattern stitch is. What it usually means is that the 2 rows form the pattern. that is, you keep knitting rows one and two until you reach the end. Depends on how many rows you have done already. It's sometimes difficult to see the finished pattern until you have knit a lot of rows. good luck

How should the first stich in each row be knitted. I.e opposite of what the pattern calls for or pulled off Thank you.


The first stitch of the row is usually the chain that you ended in the last row. The chain essentially builds the height of the pattern to the next row so the stitches are even height from beginning to end. After you have made the chain, then begin with the first stitch in the next row pattern.

So, if the pattern says to knit 3 (or purl 3), that 3 stitches allows the height for the next row.

The pattern says s1, k1,ym, k2tog, knit to end of row.


S1 = slip next stitch
K1 = knit one
YRN = Yarn Over (not YM!)
K2tog = knit 2 stitches together
Knit to end of row

What is do not turn mean on a crochet pattern


When you get to the end of a row, you would not flip the item around to continue. Instead, once you reach the end of the row, you would probably work from left to right.
