GE washer not draining

I have a GE WSSH300G Front load washer. It drains ok first load, but then not again until next day. Thinking its the filter I heard about, but can not figure out how to remove front. do I have a removable front kickplate on this machine?

It's not the filter....my washer would not drain too, and I called in GE service (within my warranty). The guy pulled out socks from the pump. Unscrew the front, lift it, then open that pump up (not easy as I watched). He took out the socks, and then the water drained quick and my washer spins like new. He showed a gap between the drum and the rubber seal that was just big enough to have socks or underwears slide through. The likely cause is when the washer shakes while on high spin....hope that helps all of those who's washer can't drain.

You should have one. Get down low, and look at the kickplate. You should see screws just below the main front panel of the machine.

GENERAL ELECTRIC WSSH300G FRONT LOAD WASHER PUMP KEEPS RUNNING AFTER DRAINING WATER PRYER TO FINAL SPIN. WASHER WON'T SPIN.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Sorry but I do not know your particular machine BUT I would suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters. The motor is unable to drain all of the water in the allotted time.
Here are my complete, general pre-typed guidance notes for checking filters and motors ;-0)
-------------------------------------
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and held in by a round cover/knob.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!

It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!

My machine is not draining properly GE WSSH300G0WW front load washer

Hello,

Remove any kinks in the drain hose. Ensure that the washer is not sitting on the hose.

Inspect the household drain. Remove clogs, if possible. Call a plumber if you cannot remove the clogs.

Check the drain and make sure there is an air gap between the hose and drain. An air gap is necessary to prevent the drain hose from siphoning water.

Clean the pump filter. Open the pump access door. Turn the pump filter counter-clockwise and remove it. Remove dirt and debris. Replace the filter and close the pump access door.

Rearrange the clothing in the load. An unbalanced load can prevent the washer from spinning or draining.

Allow the washer to cool down for two hours. If the washer overheats, it will stop the motor and cool down before restarting.

Close the door completely. The washer will not operate if the door is not securely closed.

I hope the above helps.

Take care.

GE WSSH300G0WW will drain the water, but not strt the spinning. Is there a filter that might need cleaning?

Yes, the filter can be accessed by removing lower front panel. Unscrew pump cover filter. Have a shallow pan and towels to catch water when servicing

GE WSSH300 stops after wash and need to hit start again to finish

Be sure to rule out one of the simplest things first---be sure the button that gets depressed when you close the lid is still functioning (or even THERE) Sometimes, if you have had a severly offset load, this switch can become damaged. Some washers will not continue to advance if it " thinks" the door is opened.

The spin cycle will not work. I think the drain is clogged and would like to figure out how to unclog the drain

If you unscrew the bottom front kick plate there is a black rubber piece to the right in front. In order to get to the filter make sure the washer has no water in it or it will spill all over the floor. The black rubber piece houses the filter. You need a phillips screwdriver to unscrew the clamp at the top of the black rubber piece. Once that is unscrewed you can pull it down and you'll see a white plastic filter inside. It is most likely clogged so it won't drain. When it is cleared it will work again. It is pretty easy but can be messy if there is water still in the drum. Just make sure that you put the rubber gasket back on with the clamp tightened.
