Hi I am sure this model number is correct and it is a 3 Ton unit.Normally when the breaker trips as soon as you reset it, the compressor is compromised. Happened to me yesterday on a 5 ton heat-pump. When this happens, what you can do if you are a handy type of man, is to prove this. I don't know if the is is a split system or a all in one package unit, doesn't matter. Get to the compressor compartment. Of course the power will be off.If you can see the run capacitor, take a screw driver and short across the terminals to discharge it, as it could have a small amount of juice in it, I doubt it. Anyway, remove the plastic cover to expose the terminals. They can be hard to remove sometimes, just use a screw driver to push the clips in. Wire colors should be black for common, yellow for start, and blue for run. Write down the order they were in. To be safe, tape the metal connectors so they wont touch metal when you turn the power back on. After you have done this, turn everything back on. If the breaker holds and everything else is on, fan and so on, this proves the compressor is probably shorted to ground. If this a/c is rather new, I would replace the compressor. If it is old, I would think about getting prices on a new unit. Just food for thought. Please let me know on the out come of this test, please. When a compressor shorts out, or locks up, it draws what is called locked rotor amps/LRA which could be from 49 on up, and your breaker can be 25, 30, 35 to 40 amps so it will trip. Keep me posted and do this test, it is very easy to do.

Hello there,
It does not need a new condensing unit. The reason the breaker keeps tripping is due to the power regultion within the unit of the ir conditioner. If there is a surge in power, the breaker trips. If the voltage is not high enough to be able to carry the full power of the air conditioner, the breaker will be tripping off.
I will advice you try to use it with a step down or a step up, depending on the kind of voltage that was written for it to be using. Check the back for the voltage it works with and try to regulate the current to that using either the step down or step up, depending on the volt and current being supplied to it.
Why should you fix such for $3300, thats too exorbitant.
Hope this helps. Goodluck Elect_Comp

The ac unit will not turn on. The "comp" red light is on & it beeps

Did you get a manual with this unit? I believe the red light is a ground circuit fault interrupter GFCI. This detects minute amounts of leakage current and opens to protect the user from a shock. Is there a drain located on the unit for the moisture that is naturally condensed out of the air you are conditioning? If so, that needs to be drained. Many of the GFCI's they place on these units are cheap as they are made in China. I believe your unit takes some or all of the condensed moisture and runs it over the condensor coil to cool the coil, which is OK. My question is where does the excess moisture end up and how does this unit get rid of it? I believe they sell these at Wal Mart so I know it was made in China.

What symbol is for air conditioning?

Here is the operating manual
On Page EN 7 it has the operating instructions for the hand held remote unit. When the word "cool" appears in the display, depending on the temperature that the room is and what the remote is set for, the unit will function in the air conditioning mode.
