The mechanism where the bobbin sits moves when sewing so it jams the thread underneath in the bobbin area

the bobbin sits in what's called the bobbin case,, the bobbin case needs to be checked to see if there is something wrong with it and if it needs to be replaced or if the hook and hook race may need to be adjusted.

Clicking noise in bobbin area

it's possible that there is something wrong with the bobbin itself
try changing the bobbin to a different one.
try changing the needle
try cleaning under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for lint.
or the bobbin isn't setting in the bobbin case correctly- reinsert a
another bobbin into the bobbin case & see if that helps
or it could be something is wrong with the hook & hook race-
if the machine keep making the noise I suggest having the machine
checked at a repair shop

Where to oil my singer 2263 ?

The 2263 only needs oil on the hook race (below the bobbin case). The complete cleaning procedure for this area is, with the needle fully up, remove the bobbin case and rotate the arms that hold the hook outwards. Remove the hook cover and the hook. Wipe the area under the hook cover and hook with a soft cloth. Put 1-2 drops of sewing machine oil just to the right of the center of this area. Rotate the hand wheel until the hook race is on the left side of the bobbin area. Then replace the hook and hook cover. Snap the arms back towards the center and insert the bobbin in the bobbin case.

With the bobbin out and the needle up, you should also unscrew the faceplate and wipe the feed dogs with your machine brush. (For best results, clean this before you oil. If you do not do this first, you may brush lint and bits of thread into the hook race and risk jamming this part.)

For pictures, see http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/1213_oiling-2263.pdf .

I hope this helps.

B/A 180 engine groans and then stops...push pedal and may start stitching again...Sometimes have to turn hand wheel. ????

Refer to your owner's manual to better assist you in following these instructions.Remove the bobbin case. Release the hook cover by pushing the lever which is located at the top left side of where the bobbin case is inserted. After the cover pops open, remove the hook. Observe if the machine now moves freely. Clean the hook and the hook area with a toothbrush, removing all lint and debris. Place one small drop of sewing machine oil on the rim of the hook. Replace the hook into the raceway and close the cover. Replace the bobbin case and test sew.

"Please check hook system" ?

clean out rotary hook area following manual instructions on how to do this, usually removing bobbin holder and bobbin, then the rotary hook area by undoing the latches each side.

Could be a thread jamming in there causing the error message.

Low bobbin thread indicator not working on Pfaff 2044. Using clear bobbins. Is there a lamp or sensor that can be replaced?

Have you tried to take out the bobbin case, close the door, and see if the indicator comes on? If the indicator works with no bobbin case, then the machine is working. You may have what we call foggy bobbins. Bobbins that are scratched or cloudy. Make sure you try a new one. Also check for lint blockage in the hook area or the bobbin case. If it still doesn't work, the indicator on the door may have gotten pushed in. That sometimes happens. You should feel the indicator eye protruding out a little bit from the door. You can open the area where the indicator is on the door to push it back out. Sometimes the indicator wire behind the hook gets broken. That would require you do disassemble the freearm cover area. Start with the simple things first.

Elna TSP machine the bobbin casing not moving

Is the clutch disengaged to wind the bobbin? Is the needle going up and down okay?

If the needle is moving but the rotary hook is not rotating to catch the thread from the bobbin then it is likely that a gear has gone in the free arm area which drives the rotary hook.

If this is a star series TSP you may be able to remove the cover plate on the free arm area and view the shaft and gear in this area. Its just held down with a single screw near the needle plate.

If the pinon gear looks worn or split, then probably best job for a mechanic to replace this.

Machine is very loud and jumpy

Hi,
Usually this problem occurs on machines with a front load bobbin case. If so, remove the bobbin case, the shuttle hook cover (two levers to the sides of the bobbin case area cover and shuttle hook (part the bobbin case goes on and it is ½ mooned shaped). Then clean and oil (with Q-tips and sewing machine oil NOT 3 n1 oil) the round outer area where the hook rides. No lint at all and squeaky clean. Then 3 drops of sewing machine oil in rounded groove where the shuttle hook rides. Then replace the pieces:
Replace hook:
Identify the the hook driver (still in machine), it is 1/2 moon shape. The hook is also 1/2 moon shape. If you lay the machine on its back,( it's easier). Set the hook 1/2 into the other 1/2 of the hook driver to make a circle. Then put the hook cover on (machine still on its back) with the tabs for the twist locks pointed to you. Needle gaurd on hook cover to the top of the machine. Snap the twist locks in place, replace the bobbin case and viola!

Singer 3820 How I replace the bobbin case, it's loose and I can't sew!

remove the 2 screws in the needle plate. Lift off the plate.Take out the bobbin case and examine it for rough spots or nicks. If there are any it will be necessary to buff them with an emery stick or fine sandpaper. Once the rough spot has has been smoothed, buff it with some very fine steel wool. There must be no rough spots on this bobbin case.Clean all the lint from inside the hook area. Do not pull the wick from the center of the hook. Place the bobbin case in the hook area so that it sits flush and does not bind when the handwheel is turned.Reinstall the needle plate, thread the machine, insert the bobbin and turn the wheel to pick up the bobbin thread and see that it doesn't bind.Test sew
