SOURCE: Z force 48 in. cub Cadet mower starts but dies

Check the wires to the seat switch. Under the seat you should find 2 wires connected to the seat. Unplug them, and use a jumper on the end that goes into the body of the mower. Try it again, and if it works, replace your seat.

SOURCE: cub cadet z force mower dies after releasing park

According to the wiring diagram in my ?07 Z-Force manual, a malfunctioning safety switch under the seat is the only device which could cause this problem. Try flipping the seat upside down and locate the seat safety switch. Pry the locking tab out and remove the connector from the switch. Make sure the PTO is off and the brake is set and try starting the engine again. Release the brake again. If the engine doesn?t die this time, the seat safety switch is either defective or not being activated when the seat is occupied. The switch should be closed when unoccupied and should open when the seat is occupied. I wouldn?t recommend normal operation of the mower with safety switches defeated or disconnected.

SOURCE: I have a cub cadet 2146 riding mower. I've changed the battery and replaced the fuses, still no power. What else could the problem be?

check the battery connections and also the earth cable if no luck their then check the fuses with a test light or similar and look for a feed to the fuses as the connections at the back of the fuses could be corroded

c.Using a 3/8" socket breaker bar or socket ratchet insert the drive end into the 3/8" square opening in the lower idler arm assembly and push the idler arm counterclockwise. While holding the idler arm back, loosen the blade drive belt from the pulley and slide the belt away from the pulley.

Trying to jump (with my car, I know it's not good) my cub cadet LTX 1046. Worked a few times. Now the parking brake light comes on when I try to turn it over and the motor won't even try to start. Nothing....

Find the switch attached to the parking brake mechanism. It's probably stuck. Jumping with a car will not hurt it if it uses a 12 volt battery. The car is not "too much power" for it. The mower will only take what it needs.

I have a cub cadet model 3184 i want to be able to mower in reverse it used to all of a sudden it started disengaging the mower when i push reverse pedal.

There are 3 switches to check. The Brake switch, the parking brake switch and the reverse switch. Any one not funtioning properly will cause this symptom.
See this manual page 82 for the Brake and Reversing switch locations:
http://manuals.mtdproducts.com/mtd/GetFile.do?filename=769-02100.pdf

The parking brake switch is under the parking brake handle. It is not shown in the manual.
These are all make or break switches. Check resistance across the terminals in both actuated and extended positions. I think there may be a problem with either the pedal / brake switch or the reversing switch.

Wiring can also cause this same problem.

Thanks for choosing FixYa, Kelly
